Thugs are basically delinquents or criminals ranging from small time 'gang-bangers' to right hand men of big time gang leaders. The motivations for a thug are usually money, status, power, and respect(and/or fear). Thugs are sometimes any bodyguards of a crime boss you might hear about on the news or be unlucky enough to witness committing murder in an alley way.
