Chaos Necromancer
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
((Grumdek was heavily inspired by my love of Dungeons and Dragons at the time, and I'd always wanted to play a lich so blam, Grumdek was born.Later on, after I started roleplaying, I decided to tweak his concept a bit, so he in essence lost anything resembling a static personality and simply became a really, really insane psycopath that's mannerisms and personality shifted with my mood and the current events in game. He's also moderately inspired by Xykon, one of the single greatest characters I could ever choose to draw inspiration from.))

Personality
Grumdek is completely psychotic, and his personality reflects this.He can be gentle and caring one moment, and enter into a towering, murderous rage the next.He seems to revel in his insanity, as he has been known to laugh off threats while at the same time summoning a horde of undead to defend himself. He seems to delight in spreading misery and misfortune, while at times he has been kind and even generous to those he has happened across. His moods and agendas seem to be as chaotic and everchanging as the very essence of magic itself.
Physical Description
Grumdek's form primarily used in public is that of a handsome, aristocratic mage in his mid twenties, sporting a short cut goatee and dressing in black, rune covered robes. His true form is that of a tall skeleton, sporting glowing red eyes, a tattered, black, rune covered robe, and a pair of large, skeletal wings. He also wears a small, black metal crown and knee high boots with a skull motif. In both forms he carries a tall staff, 6' long, formed of either black crystal or metal, topped with a black skull, jaw hanging open, set with a black, faceted gemstone.
Abilities
Grumdek possesses vast magical abilities, mostly relating to the school of magic known as Necromancy. He can summon hordes of undead with a snap of his fingers, manipulate miasma to protect his body or pin foes in place, and his body is permeated by negative energy. He is unphazed by the destruction of his body, as he simply shunts his soul into a new one which quickly reverts to a form identical to his original. He also carries a variety of vials on his person, all filled with various alchemic concoctions. He is also able to exhale a cloud of paralytic gas, which, if the unfortunate victims are even capable of breathing after inhaling it, their bodies are slowed to such an extent that they can barely move. Also, he is capable of flight, although he seems to use his wings only as a way to assist in controlling his speed and direction, as he has been seen flying without them.
History
Grumdek represents quite the enigma, an infamous villain who's past remains hotly debated by scholars and those in the magica community, what is known however, is thus...
The earliest confirmed siting of him was in England around 1890.He was working with a fledgling cult ran by an enigmatic figure known today as Baron Zoria. He is believed to have been an associate to the Baron, possibly even the one who originally inspired him with knowledge of the ancient city of Oranbega. He faded from view shortly after Zoria discovered the city, and it is belived that he spent the next century or so traveling across Europe, taking several apprentices, most of which went on to become performers upon the grand stage of Europe over the next several decades.
The next confirmed reports of Grumdek were not until after Recluse had staged his coup and obtained control of the Etoile Isles. He founded a small cult, spending the next two decades training various apprentices, all of which went onto to become famous, if not infamous, mages, most of which met rather unpleasant fates.
He dissapeared for a period of time, reappearing shortly after the Malleus Mundi event which created Dark Astoria. He was working on some sort of ritual, although his goal was never found out, as a small group of monster hunters, led by Doc Philosophy, interrupted the ritual.Doc was the only survivor, managing to escape at the last moment before the cavernous ruin collapsed in on itself due to the unrestrained magical energy unleashed when Grumdek's ritual was interrupted.
Grumdek resurfaced soon afterwards, busy in the Isles trying to rebuild his arcane library as well as his laboratory after both had been destroyed. He has, apparently, been successful in this endeavor, as quite a few homeless as well as a few Arachnos and Freakshow have disappeared in St. Martial, where his lab is thought to be located. It is thought that he spends most of his time these days busily working on his "research", atrocities best not pondered by any soul who wishes to retain a sane mind.

"I met him once, and all I can say is that he is pretty damn crazy." - Power Patron
