EDGES

All or Nothing

Edge

React: Play when your Super is targeted by an attack, or when your Super targets an attack: Discard your hand. For every two cards discarded, this Super gets either +2 defense or +1 accuracy and +1 damage (of all damage types) for this attack. Skip your next action.

Inspiration: Respite


Broken Concentration

Edge

React: Play at any time: Target a Hero. For the next two actions, if that Hero uses any Powers that normally Stun, Immobilize or turn off toggles, those effects do not occur. If the Hero is a Controller, for the next two actions he draws one less card whenever he would normally draw cards.

Inspiration: Catch a Breath


Burnt Out

Edge

React: Play at any time: Target player discards 3 cards. If that player's Hero is a Scrapper, turn off all of his toggles as well.

Caught up in the chaos of battle, some Scrappers find that they have pushed themselves to hard for too long, often with dangerous results.

Care Bears on Parade

Edge

Action: Until the end of your third action, no Supers may attack other Supers.

Inspiration: Enrage


Collateral Damage

Edge

React: Play at any time: Target a Hero. For the next 2 actions, that Hero may not use any area attacks. If the Hero is a Blaster, he has -3 accuracy for the next 2 actions as well.

While heroes often go out of their way to avoid injuring civilians, villains rarely have the same mores.

Communications Error

React: Play at any time: Choose any player. He or she reveals his hand. Choose one of the cards in his or her hand. He or she discards that card.

Defenseless

Edge

React: Play at any time: Target a Hero. For the next 2 actions, if that Hero has any Powers that provide a bonus to accuracy, defense, resistance or damage to other Supers, those Powers are cancelled. If the Hero is a Defender, for the next 2 actions his attacks deal -2 damage (of all types) as well.

Desperate Measures

Edge

Action: Search your deck for a Sidekick card and put it into play, even if you already have a Sidekick in play. That Sidekick has -1 accuracy, -1 defense and -2 maximum hit points.

During extraordinary circumstances, heroes are often forced to take whatever help they can get. Unfortunately, this often results in help that leaves something to be desired.

Distraction

Edge

React: Play after a Super is targeted by an action. The targeted Super has -3 defense for this action. You may only play one Distraction per attack.

Dramatic Rescue

Edge

Action: Play if one of your Sidekicks has 3 or less health remaining. Discard a card: Discard the Sidekick and replace him with one from your hand. If the Sidekicks share any Powersets, you may move up to two Powers from the discarded Sidekick to the one you put into play.

"Oh sure, *now* he shows up..."

Incredible Teamwork

Edge

React: Play when a Mission is completed: The Super that completed the Mission gains +1 accuracy, +1 defense and heals 3 hit points.

"IS THIS A HOLD?"

Edge

Action: For each players' next 3 actions, all attack Powers that stun the opposing Super no longer stun. Attack Powers that do not normally stun now stun the opposing Super for 1 action.

Lag

Edge

React: Play when an opposing Super activates a Power: Cancel that Power activation. He instead activates that Power during his next action.

Inspiration: Break Free


Lost in the Hollows

Edge

React: Play when an opponent puts a Sidekick into play: Return that Sidekick to his owner's hand. That sidekick may not be played again for the next three actions.

Nerfed

Edge

React: Play at any time. Discard a card: Negate the effects of any Edge or Enhancement. The Edge or Enhancement in question is then discarded.

Overwhelmed

Edge

React: Play at any time: Target a Hero. For the next two actions, he has a penalty to accuracy equal to the number of other Supers in play. If that player's Hero is a Tanker, he has a penalty to defense equal to that one half of that number as well (rounded down).

There are some crowds that even Tankers can't handle.

Plans Within Plans

Edge

React: Play when an opposing Super completes a Mission: Set that Mission aside and replace it with one from your hand. When that Mission is defeated, move both missions to the Super that defeated it.

Power Dampener

Edge

React: Play at any time. Discard a card: Opponent can not use any Powers or Edges that require discarding cards for the next three actions.

Retaliation

Edge

React: Play after this Super suffers damage from an attack: This Super performs an attack action targeting the attacker.

Inspiration: Catch a Breath


Sex

Edge

If an opposing Super's power causes you to discard Sex, inflict 3 psychic damage on that Super.

Action: Shuffle Sex into your deck face-up. If you draw Sex, inflict 4 psychic damage on any opposing Super and discard it. That Super skips his next action.

"I'm looking for Sex. Have you seen it?"

"Uh..."

"About this big, calico fur..."

Strange Radiation

Edge

Action: Discard 1 card: Remove all Enhancements from your Powers. You may replace any number of Powers on your Super with Powers in your hand. Re-play all Enhancements onto your powers, in any order. All rules and restrictions for playing Powers and Enhancements are in effect. Discard all Enhancements which cannot legally be played.

"This radiation has altered our powers in new and... unpredictable ways!"

"...but I don't have powers. I just carry a sword and-"

"HITTING THINGS WITH A SWORD IS A POWER. Don't ask how. It just is."
