Background
Anette Tozi began her life in Mercy Island, growing up in the mud of the slums encompassing Mercy proper. The woman she now assumes was her mother vanished in 1992, unnoticed and seemingly unmissed. At the tender age of four, Tozi found herself adopted by the streets and their occupants, surviving despite the odds, and if not thriving, doing better than anyone could've expected. Perhaps it was merely luck, perhaps not.
In any case, in late May of 2002, the Rikti attacked, bombarding the slum and city alike. Though only 13, Anette found herself joining a gang of both similarly aged amoral youths and those older, all brought together under the banner of mutual protection against the alien invaders flooding their streets. The gang was, through unofficial paths, Arachnos funded, intended to bring the armed youth of the Isles under Arachnos' waiting wing. And it worked. Though the Rikti attacks ended that winter, the gang continued, until eventually, at the age of 18, Anette Tozi signed up for the Wolf Spiders.
Wolf Spider boot camp is considered by Arachnos to be the sieve separating the bloodthirsty amoral soldiers-to-be from the bloodthirsty amoral corpses-to-be. And it was here that Tozi was determined to be very much in the former class. After her own four month stint in boot, she was selected to become the second-in-command by the then Huntsman Falcon, appointed to both whip the recruits into shape in her own special way, and in truth, to work as his stand-in while he recovered from his injuries. Two sessions of boot camp passed and, on Falcon's recommendation, she was promoted to TacOps within Arachnos itself.
Eventually, after months of applications, waiting, and blackmail, Tozi was accepted into the Crab Spiders as a Slicer. Shortly after, during the mandatory training period, the great Mess Hall riot occurred; one that eventually involved the breaking of a superior's nose through his helmet, and her ability to make several key Slicers flinch by brandishing silverware at them. Unlike many, the installation of the claws seemed to go over well, with no unexpected side effects. Since then, she's enjoyed her self-appointed position as unofficial caretaker of the other Crab Spiders in Blackweb, at least whenever it suits her to don the mantle.
Description
Excerpt from a September 2008 Psyche Evaluation
A slim, athletic woman when not wearing armor, subject has been described as a "spitfire", utilizing wit, sarcasm, and a highly developed sense of cynicism for her own entertainment. Further analysis of her background indicates this may also be a coping method with her version of the world.
Review of her behavior has indicated a strong sense of loyalty to those she feels deserve it, as well as a slight distrust of many in high authority positions. Politeness has been maintained under most circumstances.

Subject is typically derisive and hostile towards psychics (or as she calls them, 'spooks'). Though she has no mental barriers or, it seems, aptitude towards such, her sheer belligerence creates a hostile mind to work in. She is candid, to a point, about her past, but defensive about Mercy.

Operative Falcon- The Big Bad Wolf. Thomas Falcon has served as her mentor almost since Tozi joined Arachnos. He would qualify as a friend, a teacher, and now, her subordinate. And, at least according to Tozi, damned frustrating sometimes. Of course, she makes sure to mention that when he's nice enough to let her crash on his couch. After several key points of being annoyed with each other, they seem to have reached an understanding.

Azuka Almonne- The Pup. Originally a new recruit to Blackweb, recruited after Tozi became a TacOps within Blackweb itself. As time went on, especially after Az (forcibly) received her Crab Spider hardware, and much to the surprise of Tozi herself, she started taking Azuka under her wing. Now that it seems like Azu's recovering properly from a fault in her Pack, she's much less worrying. Which is a good thing.

Operative McHale- Nicknamed the Pigeon for his tendency to go into panic attacks whenever the Chain is mentioned. But Tozi likes him, even if she takes more amusement than she should at how scared he can get of her. He's also a damn fine cook. Now that Swiss has a voice, instead of communicating in Morse, Jack's Pack isn't bad either.

Kenpachi Tsuya- Ken. One of the few people who manage to fall under the category of "Close Friend", and who has managed to stay there, even through the flirting. Otherwise, if asked, Tozi stays silent on the subject. Now that it seems he plans to join up with Arachnos proper, she'll do her best to smooth the way in. As long as he stays on her good side.
