Origin
Nobody knows who he is, where he's from, or even what his goals are, other than himself, that is. The Enquirer is ultimately an enigma.
He appeared a little over a year ago, beginning his campaign for the truth. As he gets to the bottom of conspiracies and secrets, he publishes his findings in his tabloid, and seeds them across the city.
The Enquirer lives in a secretive lair, somewhere in Skyway City, where he researches, develops, and prints his magazine.
Powers, Abilities, and Quirks
Electric Blast
The Enquirer utilizes a pair of magnetic induction gloves, purchased from an ad in the back of a magazine. They allow him to focus electrical charges and send them at his foes.
Electricity Manipulation
Though his gloves also allow him to do perform certain tricks (such as stopping an enemy in his tracks with an electromagnetic field), the majority of the Enquirer's secondary attacks are simply street fighting laced with electricity, a brutal combination.
His most devastating attack is magnetically-prepulsed slam - if he lifts off the ground, watch out!
Magnetism
Being magnetic induction gloves, the Equirer can also use them as powerful magnets. However, this is rarely useful due to his usual surroundings of computers.
Mental Fortitude
In Masterpiece Manifest, The Enquirer completely deflects an attempt by Silencer Micheal to read his thoughts. His defenses were visualized as an almost painful field of mazelike lines, black on white.
Investigator's Gumption
Being a hardnosed investigative journalist, the Enquirer stops at nothing to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
Paradoxial Belief
The Enquirer believes everything and trusts nothing. This is the cornerstone of his worldview, and the basis for what he allows in his publication.
Storylines
The Enquirer started out as his own character, but with intentions of being swept into the shadowy world of the Godby Organization and the Assembled Girl.
Paragon Enquirer Issue #1
A four-page document decrying Pocket D, and an exploration of its sinister secrets.
It can be found here.
Superiors and Suspicions
The Enquirer's introduction is in the final chapter of the story, when Stewart Ackard delivers a package containing data concerning The Godby Organization.
Masterpiece Manifest
After being injured by Jack Damuro in a Crey data lab, The Enquirer makes his way into the Paragon Youth Corps base, meeting Silencer Micheal. There, he explains his plan to infiltrate Whitecrest Academy, and agrees to assist Micheal in rescuing the Assembled Girl from the facility.
Both Superiors and Suspicions and Masterpiece Manifest can be found at the Assembled Girl Archive.
Creator Notes and Trivia
- The Enquirer is a synthesis of the JLU version of The Question, The Big O's Schwarzwald, and Paranoia Agent's Detective Maniwa.
- Prior to his creation in-game, the Enquirer and Inspector LeRon were once going to be the same character, serving as a link between Masked Bolt and the Assembled Girl, but this was ultimately scrapped.
