Ionic-04 is a member of the Alpha Group; a group of Heroes from another dimension's Earth who've come to Primal Earth to pursue a team of Villains who have escaped and are now in hiding in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.

History
After the Alpha Asteroids crashed in the Nevada Desert, a secret project formed by the top scientific minds in the country was formed to study their strange properties. Officially the Alpha Asteroids were explained to the public as rogue comets from the Asteroid Belt and contained large amounts of Iron with trace amounts of Gold. In truth the Asteroids were comprised almost entirely of a then unknown element completely alien to Earth. The team of scientists assigned to study the asteroids dubbed it the 'Alpha Alloy' and began to study it's properties.
The Alpha Alloy proved to be the X Factor that gave rise to the Dawn of the Metahuman as the Alloy proved to have radical properties and capabilities depending on how it was used. Several smaller teams formed from the initial Alpha Project to learn how to use the Alloy's power for a greater good. These projects included Gene Manipulation, Elemental Control, Atomic Maniuplation and Time Displacement among other more radical ideas. Tradgedy struck the Project after the core group of researchers decided together the Alloy was too dangerous and their superiors wanted it for darker purposes. Staging an 'accident', they forced the public shutdown, dissasemblement, and Congressional inquiry of the Project where it's founders were found guilty of various crimes against the State, the World and against Humanity.
The Alpha Alloy's powers did not end with the Project's shutdown, as many of the experiments lived on and would in time give rise to the first Metahuman Heroes and the so-called 'Dawn of the Metahuman'. In addition, many of the research staff escaped punishment for their crimes and continued their work in secret. In the years after the Project's closure and public inquiry and the formation of the International Bureau of Metahuman Affairs, several secret Projects were formed by the many Villains and Mad Scientists of the world.
One such project was the Ionic Project, formed in secret by the Criminal Mastermind who came to be known as Ionic-07 after he used the Project on himself to make himself into a Metahuman. Several of the Project's test subjects escaped and found themselves in I.B.M.A. custody and protection soon after.
Origin
Before he was kidnapped and forced to become a test subject for the Ionic Project, 04 was a boxer, a Five Time Heavyweight Champion and known the world over. The fourth test subject of the project, code named Ionic-04, he learned to harness his Gravitational Manipulation ability and uses it as a Science Tanker in his never ending pursuit of Ionic-07 to put a stop to his plans and force him to make him human again.
Powers
While the specifics of what was done to him as part of the Ionic Project remains a mystery, what is known is that 04 has the ability to manipulate Gravity. He has learned to manipulate his power in a variety of ways, increasing his density to reduce physical damage, creating an aura of inverted Gravity that deflects incoming attacks, and his ability to reduce gravity's effect on himself allowing for jumps that allow him to cover several miles at a time. His signature however is the bionic implants in his arms that utilize his gravity manipulation ability to give him what appears to be Superhuman Strength; able to lift objects several times his body weight. His more well known application of this draws on his years of boxing experience giving his punch enough strength to cause localized tremors registering in the 5.0 range which he can either use to create an actual earthquake in his immediate area or focus this power on a target causing immense damage.
Dimensional Travel
The Alpha Group of Heroes from Ionic's home dimension have been on their mission to pursue the fugitive Villains for what would could be measured as years from a temporal standpoint. However, several factors contribute to their lack of aging, from the interference of dimensional energies reflecting their Alpha derived powers, to the simple fact that several members of the Alpha Group have abilities that resist the effects of aging. Ionic-04 did not join the cross dimensional venture until it was discovered that Ionic-07, the Villain that turned him into a Metahuman Weapon was seen in Paragon city. Ionic-04 jumped dimensions the moment he learned of this, and Primal Earth is the first alternate dimension he has traveled to.
Abilities in our Dimension
Unlike most of the Alpha Group, Ionic-04 retained virtually all his abilities when he arrived in Paragon City.
Task Force Commander
Ionic-04 is almost always seen gathering a team of like minded Heroes into a Force to undertake Tasks from the city's most distinguished Heroes such as Statesman and The Lady Grey. He can be seen working with civilians as well such as Dr. Kahn of Portal Corp, magical beings such as Katie Hannon of the Cabal, a Council spy known as Ernesto Hess, and even from dimensional beings such as Faathim the Kind. Ionic-04 has also undertaken Trials to protect the Terra Volta Reactor on several occasions and has ventured deep below the city leading teams of Heroes against the menace of the Hydra and to rescue his fellow Heroes who have been trapped by the Devouring Earth and are at the mercy of the dreaded Crystal Titan. His willingness to jump into any disaster leading a team of like minded Heroes against any threat has earned him the title of Task Force Commander, a title he proudly wears wherever he goes.
Known Associates
Ionic-04 is rarely seen in action alongside the other members of the Alpha Group. Many of the Group's members spend most of their time following leads on the fugitive Villains that would warrant a full mobilization of the Alpha Group. A few of the more scientific members spend their time trying to understand why their powers have been affected so drastically by the Dimensional Transference and search for ways to reverse it.

Costumes
Though he himself is not big on Hero fashion, Ionic-04's friends have helped him design several different costumes with Icon's help.
01 - Classic - His original costume. Ionic-04 wears this for basic day to day Hero work.
02 - Hero - His more 'iconic' look from home, his basic costume with a darker color scheme, the removal of his fedora, and the addition of a flowing cape to give him a more 'Heroic' look.
03 - Private Detective - A combination of holographic disguise and real world fashion, Ionic-04 crafted a costume that resembles that of a Private Detective from any classic noir film. He uses this for day to day wear or when it suits his mood.
04 - Vanguard Armor - Due to his extensive field work within the Rikti War Zone, Ionic has been issued a full set of Impervium Armor to use in Anti-Rikti or Anti-Hydra operations, or when he craves a more Heroic look that his Hero costume doesn't give.
05 - Roman Centurion Armor - As a personal favor from Imperious, Ionic-04 has a suit of custom Roman Centurion armor that retains his signature color scheme and cape.
