***From the Arachnos Stolen Archives***

Scientist, Masahiro Yasuda, and his young son were kidnapped late one night by Arachnos agents. Held captive in Rogue Isles, Dr. Yasuda was commanded by Lord Recluse to unlock the science behind the Mu mystics. After nearly 15 years of research he discovered that he could recreate the ability to generate intense electromagnetic fields, by utilizing nanytes to enhance the natural bio-electricity generated within one's body. Knowing the implications of revealing his discovery to Lord Recluse, Yasuda instead injected the nanytes into his now adult son. As a result of his treachery, Lord Recluse ordered the execution of Masahiro and his son. Dr. Yasuda was killed trying to escape, however the whereabouts of his son are still unknown.

Background

Issue #1: Welcome to Paragon City

Christian was born to Melinda Lyons and Dr. Masahiro Yasuda. Dr. Yasuda was a well-respected engineer and physicist who worked tirelessly trying to find a connection between magic and science. He acquired a small amount a fame through his research on the Mu mystics and electromagnetism. Yasuda eventually married Melinda Lyons and the threesome moved to Paragon City. At the age of seven, Christian Yasuda witnessed his mother's murder at the hands of Arachnos agents. He and his father survived but were taken to Lord Recluse in Rogue Isles.

Rogue Isles

Christian and his father were kidnapped due to Lord Recluse's interest in the elder Yasuda's research. Recluse was also intrigued by the tenuous relationship between science and magic. Dr. Yasuda was commanded to unlock the science behind the Mu mystics and told his son would be killed if Recluse didn't received results.

Issue #2: Survival of the Fittest

Despite being held captive, both prisoners were allowed to live amongst the other denizens of Rogue Isles. However, Arachnos was built upon the notion that only the fittest should survive and thus Christian began his training with the dreaded Arbiters immediately, despite his fathers objections.

The next decade and a half was grueling for the young Yasuda but the harsh training was necessary for survival in the Isles. Christian trained in combat with the Wolf Spiders and studied science under the tutelage of the Arbiters. At night he studied politics, sociology and ethics in secret with his father. They studied every night during their captivity except for one.

Issue #3: Survival of the Fittest Part 2

The Escape

After nearly 15 years, Masahiro Yasuda had a breakthrough. He realized that a normal human body could only generate electricity on a very small scale. However, through the use of nanotechnology, he could enhance the bio-electric fields within one's body to generate and focus a powerful electromagnetic charge. He also realized this was a dangerous discovery. Not only had he found a way to duplicate the powers of the Mu mystics, he had surpassed it. Knowing this discovery had to be kept from Arachnos at all costs Dr. Yasuda wasted no time destroying his research. He pocketed the only sample and set fire to the lab. He and his son would leave immediately.

That night Masahiro and Christian bribed a pilot to take them out of the Isles. Upon boarding the helicopter, Arachnos agents surrounded them. In desperation, Dr. Yasuda injected the sample into the arm of his son and pushed him onboard as he charged into the onslaught. Christian watched in confusion and horror as they lifted into the skies. The bravest thing his father had ever done was at the expense of his own life.

Issue #4: IonicStrike vs. The Hellions: Sewer Showdown

Life in Paragon City

Christian had finally returned to Paragon City... Alone. After reporting the incident to the Paragon Police Department, Christian took the money he received from his parents' life insurance and found a small apartment in King's Row. Finding employment, however, proved more difficult than anticipated. Despite his studies in Rogue Isles, he was told time and time again that he lacked 'real-life' experience. Eventually, he landed an office job at the Steel Canyon University thanks to a friend of his father. From there he trained as a paramedic after hearing the city was in dire need of them.

One afternoon, Christian and his new partner responded to a call just inside the sewers beneath Atlas Park. An unknown hero had been beaten senseless by the Hellions, and the two medics had just walked into an ambush. Christian rushed to engage the street gang while his partner pulled the downed hero to safety. Thanks to his training with the Wolf Spiders the Hellions were hardly a match. Parrying and sidestepping one attack after the next, Christian built up an impossible rhythm; however, before he had the chance to marvel at his own agility an arc of electricity shot from his fingertips dispatching the few remaining gangsters.
