Nazi Germany and the Fifth Column

"Irmine Tocharen", the name given to one of the few successfully engineered subjects of the Nazi "Projekt Arier-Urmensch", a project closely affiliated with Himmler's Ahnenerbe. This project was intended as a pre-cursor to construct an entire race of "Aryan" super soldiers with the ability to instantly regenerate and recover from wounds and injuries. This race of supersoldiers would eventually replace the major bulk of the Third Reich's military personel, and eventually, (according to Himmler) the entire human race. "Projekt Arier-Urmensch", or in English "Project Primordeal Aryan" was the experimental precursor to this project to replace the military. It used various samples from archeological sites supposedly inhabited by early "Aryan peoples" at different points in history -- usually entire bodies that were exceptionally well preserved, either by accident or mummification. Irmine's specific sample was taken from the Tarim Mummies discovered in what is now the Xinjiang Autonomous Region in far Western China. It was meant to represent the ancient red-haired, narrow-skulled, tall, Western European-looking Tocharian peoples of the "Aryan race". The team working on her were specially chosen by Himmler to use her sample not only to construct a super soldier, but also to illustrate supposed genetic and "spiritual" links between the ancient Aryans of Asia and the foundations of Chinese and Tibetan civilizations.

She was called "Irmine" after the feminine form of who the Nazi racial theorists believed to be the legandary king of a large Aryan empire "Armanen", and quickly admitted into the Ahnenerbe and Thule societies, becoming one of the more favoured subjects of Projekt Arier-Urmensch. After a few years of extensive military training and education, she was admitted into the Schutzstaffel Einsatzgruppen, or "deathsquads" incharge of on-spot ethnic cleansing in the bloody Operation Barbarossa-- the Nazi invasion of Eastern Europe. She quickly rose to prominence during the invasion of Poland, and later Ukraine and the Caucuses in Einsatzgruppen D, where she was promoted to SS-Obersturmführer (First Lieutenant) and became the leader of her own unit specifically dedicated to perpetrating genocide. She personally carried out genocide against Jews, Poles, Ukranians, Russians, and others, later developing a ritual where "racial undesirables" were sacrificed to the Germanic God "Irmin" by being consumed by her. She later gained the title "Priestess of Purification" for "purifying the gene pool", and Hitler even promised her her own domain in Asia once the "Thousand Year Reich" had been established.

During the Soviet counter-invasion of the Eastern Front, Irmine's unit was quickly transformed into an auxillery force with the Waffen-SS, pushed up into the Baltics and into Prussia. She took up her last stand against the counter-invading Soviet forces in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad), where she became the leader of her own anti-Soviet underground German resistance group. After recieving some support from the Americans to weaken Soviet control of Eastern Germany, she was finally captured in 1951 by a joint team CIA and Israeli Mossad agents. Due to a prolonged dispute between the CIA and the Mossad over her trial location-- the US wanting to take her to Nuremberg, Israel wanting to try her in Jerusalem-- Irmine, presumably, was able to exploit this weakness, escape custody, and miraculously faked her own death by having the British press claim she was tortured to death by Mossad agents.

We do not have any information regarding the whereabouts and activities of Irmine Tocharen after this, but it is believed that the Fifth Column not only helped her escape, but also planned and carried out her faked death. It is assumed that between 1950s and the late 1960s she worked perpetuating the cause of the Fifth Column in Europe and Asia.

From India to Iran - Rise to Power

Following the late turmoil in Central Asia, we now know that the secret identity of one of the most notorious superpowered warlords in the region-- Iranian noblewoman Darya Kayani-- is none other than wanted Nazi supersoldier and war criminal Irmine Tocharen. After a violent Fifth Column split between the Asian/Eastern European and the Western European/American branches in the late 1960s, Irmine appears to have lost faith cause of the Fifth Column and wandered around South Asia associating with various Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist religious figures. She is also linked with the assassination of several prominent Communists and Communist sympathsizers in India, Indonesia, and later, Pakistan.

After distinguishing herself by fighting rampently growing Communism, and in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war (fighting for Pakistan), where she was notorious for single-handedly wiping out entire units, she gained the attention fo the Shah of Iran, who at the time was suffering from major pro-Communist underground acitivities and rebellions. The Shah used her to ruthlessly suppress the efforts of political dissents-- Communists and others-- she was rewarded generously by the Shah, given and a small portion of the state-owned oil company. It was at this point that she assumed the name "Darya Kayani", and became a minor Iranian celebrity, unknown to the public eye that she was carrying out the orders of the Shah to eliminate dissidence with the aid of SAVAK (Iran's then secret service). She also founded a secret society called the "Aryan Emanation society", aimed at discovering and collecting artifacts and knowledge related to the ancient Aryans, but it also served another purpose to recruit powerful metahumans-- most of them magic users-- to her own personal paramilitary unit.

Irmine's state archives also reveal that she was personally sent to assassinate Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini during the latter's trip to France, but was immidiately taken over to his. Documentation has shown that she immidiately began taking up Khomeini's cause, delivering a passionate speech at one of the rallys, openly declaring her allgiance to his cause. In support of him, she independently conspired against the Shah, selectively launched attacks against SAVAK , and other political anti-Royalist rivals. Upon the outbreak of the Iranian Revolution in 1979, she took advantage of the instability to further her own private control of Iran's oil, trecheriously murdering Western and Iranian business men, sending much of her assets to help the cause of the revolution, religious endowments, and even to fund social programs-- no doubt to help her image. Even after the revolution, despite her notoriety, records show that she contributed substantially to combating social injustice and the distribution of wealth to the poor.

It was in the bloody Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) that Irmine's personal hermetic-based paramilitary unit the "Aryan Emanation society"-- then renamed, probabley to appease the Ayatollah, to what can be translated as the "Those who avenge Siffin" or simply "the Avengers"-- distinguished itself publically. The 1980 Iraqi invasion of south-eastern Iran forced Irmine off of her estate and oil holdings, but subsequently she and her "Avengers" participated in every major battle of the Iran-Iraq war. Upon retaking this part of Iran in 1982, Irmine immidiately siezed the opportunity to eliminate most of her former business rivals, effectively personally monopolizing almost 40% of Iran's petroleum, drastically increasing her sway over federal government. By the end of the war, Darya Kayani's public image shifted, turning her from an old-school aristocrat into a distinguished war heroine, crusader, and, ironically, the ideal Muslim woman.

Starting in the mid-80s, Irmine began to undertake independent operations outside of Iran, supporting Hezbollah in Lebanon, the PLO in Israel/Palestinian territories, and became a major player in the emerging Afghan civil war. Her involvement in the Afghan civil war was carried out independently, designed to control another major resource of the region-- opium. Leading a small force of magic-wielding Avengers, she conquered opium plantations and siezed control of smuggling routes through Pakistan and Iran, establishing herself as a major global drug lord by the time that the Taliban-- indirectly supported by her financing-- took over Afghanistan (1996). Kayani also helped incite the failed Marsh Arab revolt of 1991 in Iraq.

The rest of her career between the Iran-Iraq war and the Rikti invasion was spent furthering her holdings, wealth and influence. Limiting Irmine's influence, however, was her conflict with the Supreme Leaders (including Ayatollah Khomeini), especially over her blatant defying of Iranian foreign policy, her control over the opium trade and monopolization of petroleum, and occultic practices.

First Rikti Invasion to Conquest

Though the Rikti war in the Middle-East and Central Asia was slightly less devistating than in Europe, South-East Asia, or Paragon City, it was enough to radically shift the political climate. Several Muslim religious notables claimed to have predicted the Rikti war shortly after the collapse of the Twin Towers in the US, claiming that the apocalypse was imminant. The general consensus of the Muslim community towards the Rikti invasion was that this would be the final war between the forces of good and of evil before the suposed arrival of the Messiah, imploring all Muslims to unite in a Jihad against the invaders. Despite her excellent public-relations stunts which portrayed her as fierce "warrior of light" and liberator, Kayani is now known to have participated very little in fending off attacks of the Rikti except by her oil wells and some plantations. Much of her efforts were directed to the dismantling of her rivals from within and outside of Iran by strategically placing peculiar energy crystals which have the tendency to encourage Rikti attacks. She would have these crystals activated in certain areas (usually where one of her rivals were located), claim to have predicted a Rikti attack on the particular region, and then arrive to destroy the reminents of the Rikti force. Not much is known about these crystals, but they were probabley acquired from the Iraqi branch of the Circle of Thorns.

By the end of the Rikti invasion, Darya Kayani's fame had reached international levels, even being briefly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, only to be revoked by her participation in anti-Western developments Middle-East following the first Rikti invasion. As the Rikti invasion began to die down, an upsurge of radical militant messianic groups rocked the Middle-East, all of them headed by men (usually powerful metahumans) claiming to either be Messiahs themselves, or someone who will pave the way for the coming of the Messiah by reestablishing the Caliphate. Due to the extreme war exhaustion and subsequent mass poverty that these nations experienced, these Messianic movements found support en masse to recruit from. Unanimously, all of these were against perceived Western imperialism, including secular government, directing the majority of their terrorist activity, ironically, against the now weakened governments of the area. Within less than two months after the ending of the Rikti invasion, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, and parts of India, all plunged into civil war based purely on sectarianism. Christians and Muslims, as well as competing Messianic groups of the same religious sect, fought against each other for supremacy and hegemony.

Probabley due to a well-developed secret service, and their restrained behaviour during the Rikti war, Iran was curiously spared from this phenomenon. Although the Grand Ayatollah of Iran claimed to have direct communication with the future Messiah and implored his followers to take a very restrained and moderate attitude towards the end of days, the President and parliament of Iran took full advantage of the fervour to funnel support. In a passionate speech, the President of Iran claimed that he would "wrestle decency and autonomy from the chains of Western whoredom and tyranny", and claimed that it was the duty of all people, not merely Muslims or Iranians, to punish Western nations for their moral waywardness. Obviously, he intended to expand Iran's borders, concocting a plan to remove American, European and Russian influence from the Middle-East altogether.

During this chaotic time, Darya Kayani mustred up an enourmous amount of manpower and support, drawing devoute metahuman followers from the Shiites from outside of Iran, many of whom were oppressed. With her amassed wealth from oil and illegal drug money, she personally offered them a safe haven in her personally controlled territory, practically becoming a heroine of the faith. By August 2002, Iran had built up an enourmous military-industrial infrastructure consisting of 1.3 billion men in the armed services, speeding ahead through their nuclear program, massing troops along all of her borders. Finally, in September, the infamous massacre of Samarra in which 214 Shiites were massacred (supposedly) by Sunnis and hanged from the famous spiral minaret prompted a passionate speech by Kayani, denouncing sectarianism and proclaiming that it was her own personal duty to not only defend the Shiites of Iraq, but also to end sectarian violence in the Middle-East once and for all. Her speech was met with mass public approval even in non-Iranian parts of the Middle-East, and finally several days later, without the government's formal approval, Kayani's own personal militia of metahumans and other supporters marched into southern Iraq, then into Kuwait, with the only intention of securing oil wells. Interpreted as an official act of war on the part of Iran (when infact Kayani was the only one participating in the invasion at this stage), the United Nations immidiately condemned the invasion as "waging a war of agression" and a violation of international borders. To the disapproval of the Supreme Leader and many other Iranian government officials, the following day the President of Iran with the full-fledged support of the public and the military, made a formal declaration to liberate the whole Middle-East, and began to occupy Iraq, Syria, parts of Turkey, and Azerbajian. Thanks to documents recovered by British espionage, we now know that in fact the massacre of Samarra was a false-flag operation carried out personally by Kayani herself and several of her fanatic supporters against random villagers in the outskirts of the city.

Americas - A decline?

After Kayani's usurpation by court intrigue headed by some of her Indian subjects in retribution for the mass destruction she brought to northern India, her subsequent unmasking as a bioengineered Nazi supersoldier, and declaration of by the Supreme Leader of Iran of her loyalty to "Satanism", Kayani managed to take the successor of the supreme leader and a 7th century manuscript of the Koran hostage to negotiate her escape, demanding her own personal jet. Iran reluctantly conceded to her demands, actually giving her an explosives-laced jet, which Kayani seems to have suspected, since she quickly siezed the vehicle with her hostages twisted around her spines, saying that if the jet were faulty, Iran would be held responsability for the death of the cleric and the loss of the manuscript.

While flying over the Sahara, the plane suddenly crashed and exploded after a heated argument between Kayani and the cleric regarding religious matters. Kayani had declared that she would kill herself on behalf of humanity and God to vindicate herself of her crimes. She gave the cleric and the pilot parachutes, recited the entire Koran from heart, then slammed the plane into the Atlas Mountains in Feburary 2007. Darya Kayani / Irmine Tocharen was presumed to be dead by the greater public, untill May 2007, when Aeon City university professor Dr. Maurice Meneleaux was murdered by Irmine, and his notes were leaked out onto the internet, with Irmine's own personal vandalized touch included by the end of the notes. INTERPOL and the UN was immidiately informed of the similarity of names and personality, and confirmed that this Irmine of the Rogue Isles is identical with the Irmine Tocharen of Nazi Germany, and the Darya Kayani of Iran.

It is unknown how long Irmine has been operating in the Rogue Isles for, or whether she had intended since the fall of her empire to escape to the Isles. She seems to have almost instantly rekindled connections with former Nazis, 5th Column, and the Council, operating independently but in conjunction with these groups. She has, since arriving on the Isles, developed an infamous reputation for excessive cruelty, ruthlessness, barbarism, sadism, and most dangerous of all, charisma, attracting hundreds of wayward and confused youth and young adults as "faithful slaves of faithful masters" or bondservants of her personally, promising them acceptance, rewards, power, and salvation. More recently, she has also been enhancing her appeal to youth by exploiting underground "counter-culture" subcultures such as goth and cyberpunk, even winning the favouring of several well-known underground music groups. She has even appeared in a number of (now banned) music videos preaching her message of apocalypticism, hatred, and militancy, and has even had a number of songs personally dedicated to her.

Unfortunately, nearly nothing is known of the workings of her lair, although we are aware that Irmine leads a inner cult of elite metahumans known officially as "Der Wille von Mahakali", or, "the Will of Mahakali", after the Indian goddess of destruction, Mahakali. Especially after the early August 2007 assault of the Longbow Nerva compound, in which over 300 Longbow Agents were defeated by Irmine and a small force of fanatics, their heads hanged onto chains, and blood smeared onto the battle mounds in the form of a prayer to Indian goddess of destruction Mahakali, Irmine Ariosophist has enjoyed growing popularity among the metahuman population of the Isles.

More threatening to global stability, Irmine has exploited the weakening of the the Latin American political sphere due to the second Rikti invasion, leading an operation of personal conquest into Columbia, Central America, and the Carribean islands. Nominally allying herself to the "Neo-Bolivarian cause" (cause for the liberation of Latin American from perceived US hegemony), she is currently waging a war of personal conquest, calling on local guerillas, metahumans of the Rogue Isles, the Council and their operatives in Venezuala and Argentina to administer control to the regions she subjugates. Fortunately, due to the agreements she has arranged with Neo-Bolivarian leaders, her current personal holdings are restricted to rural regions. She, however, utilizes these rural regions to cultivate opium poppy, coca, cannabis, sugar and coffee, ruthlessly enslaving the local populations to work long hours on her plantations, and forcing them to refine these crops into consumable drug forms. In doing so, Irmine has has once again become one of the most notorious drug lords in the world, exploiting drug money to fuel her lust for power. More disturbingly, she has embarked upon an ambitious renewal of human slavery, organizing special task units and bounties for the capture and successful enslavement of civilians and metahumans.

The Reign of the Queen - Current Timeline

Physiology

1. Retractable Spines - Sharp, hardened and fleshy spines that can be retracted, expanded, and contracted at will. The spines can reach anywhere from a maximum of 4-8 feet, and have the ability to inject or "spit" poison at Irmine's choosing. Her spines also play an important role in her digestive system, allowing her to directly absorb nutrients from the raw biological matter from of other living organisms through her spines-- something absolutely required for the biological demands of regeneration. The majority of her excretion also occurs through her spines, requiring large doses of alcohol, ingested through the mouth, to flow out of her spines in order to clean them.
2. Toxins - Two types of toxins can be identified in Irmine's physiology. One is the top-grade, extremely deadly venom automatically produced in Irmine's mammary glands and secreted in her spines. This venom has the ability to, upon contact to open wounds or internal organs or injected, harm both the cardiovascular and nervous systems, usually causing paralysis, blindness, loss of breath, extreme disorientation/confusion, and poisoning.
The other toxin, a more bacterial and acidic based one, is secreted and produced in the womb. This toxin is slightly less deadly, but if taken in moderate doses, and depending on where it enters the body, can result in temporary neurological distortion, excessive bleeding, long-term numbness, infection, and even insanity.
3. Regeneration - Bioengineered regeneration was a characteristic hallmark of the Nazi and later 5th Column super-soldier engineering programmes. This regeneration merely gives the subject the increased ability to automatically heal and replenish naturally deteriorating organic tissue. This effectively halts the body's natural tendency to physically degenerate with age. However, due to the experimental and prototypical nature regeneration in earlier Nazi super-soldier projects-- mainly Projekt Arier-Urmensch--, subjects were required an enourmous amount of sustaniance per day in order to ensure that the subject endowed with regenerative abilities flourish. Later the 5th column mastered this by contenting their subjects (especially the Vampyri) with the injestion of blood or syrum. But for earlier subjects, replenishing required much more bio-organic nutrients. Replenishing and sustainance of Irmine's physique-- and especially her regeneration-- requires that she consumes at least 3-6 bio-organically-based subjects weighing between 100-300lbs per day. It is also believed that Irmine's original body prior to its revival had an innate regenerative capability due to gene structure.
4. Enhanced Strength - Another uniform trait of all Nazi super-soldier programmes, Irmine has a increased muscle mass, bone structured, and increased size of adrenal glands.
5. Enhanced Cognition - Another characteristic of the super-soldier program, enhanced cognition, which accompanies the heightened sensation inherent to all organisms possessing regeneration. Irmine's enhanced cognition is an innate neurological disposition and not the result of education. It increases the speed in which her brain functions, allowing her to compute sense data much more quickly, and contributes to her ability to scheme. Though she has a remarkably high IQ of 168, Irmine has shown little to no interest in the genuine pursuit of knowledge.
6. Innate Adaptive Immunity - The hallmark of all eugenics programs, Irmine's body was especially engineered to innately and adaptively immunize itself against the overwhelming majorty of diseases, bacteria, and certain poisons by selective exposure. This processes of bacterial exposure and immunization is enhanced tenfold by her spinal consumption, which immediately exposes bacteria to her internal organs. It is also well documented that she spends long periods of time in areas with dense foilage, ravaged by epidemics, and mass graves, trying to increase her immunities.

Charges

Irmine Tocharen is wanted by the International Court of Justice, the United Nations Security Council, and INTERPOL for violations of international law, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. A break down of her charges are as follows:

After seducing and violating the demon-man in the sight of his own friends, Steelsoul has justifiably sought out Irmine's destruction, only to be lured in by her enticing charm to do her bidding.

Rumours

- Recently recovered 5th Column documents brought to the attention of the crime-fighting community shed some light on Irmine's origins. The documents claim that there was no embalmed corpse of a Tocharian princess that the Ahnenerbe used as a basis and engineered. Rather, the documents claim that the Ahnenerbe was in contact with other proto-Nazi organizations of parallel Earth dimensions, and cloned Irmine from a genetic sample of an internationally acclaimed, two thousand year old soldier-champion of Scythian origins of another dimension, after she had pulled from her support of Hitler. The name of said soldier-champion is blotted out in the documents.
