Basic Backstory
Clarissa Summers was practically born in the Haven House. There under the careful eye of Westin Phipps, she and others experienced a strange mix of fake caring and purposeful poverty. With the stress of everyday living, it wasn't long before her latent powers began to slowly awaken. She discovered that objects that she touched would have their effects amplified. Radio signals became stronger, stereos became louder, refrigerators became colder, and what got the villain groups of Arachnos interested in her... Super powers of those she touched would become more powerful.
When she turned 14, Phipps had managed to organize a raid on the Haven House with the idea to capture her. However, thanks to her craftiness and help of others within the Haven House and a nearby Freakshow gang, she managed to escape into the streets, and later to Paragon. Now she seeks out control so one day she may go back and help those who helped her escape.
Haven House and the Freakshow
During her stay at haven House, Clarissa was infatuated with the Freakshow way of life, and quickly became a groupie of the Haven House sect. There she was taught basic metalworking, mechanic repair, and street fighting under the eye of the sect leader 4uRr1c4n3, who she nicknamed Herc. In return, she used her powers of amplifications to keep the music loud and the rampaging going, quickly earning the name "Amplifier". Although she has asked to officially join the gang multiple times, Herc constantly refused her, telling her that this life wasn't for her.
When Arachnos cracked down on her for her powers and attempted to capture her, it was with Herc and his gang's help that she escaped and stowed away to Paragon.
Down in Paragon
Amp quickly fell into a slump in Paragon, lost and confused, her Grandville ways not fitting well with the citizens of Paragon. She denied all connections to her old identity of Clarissa, opting instead to just be known as "Amplifier", both out of thanks for the Freakshow, and to protect herself from possible Arachnos capture. She spent some time wandering around before she was picked up by a number of Super Groups, including the Swords of Paragon and the Teen Phalanx before she discovered The Palladium Sentry. Although her rough ways got her in trouble constantly with Knight Sentinel, causing her to switch over to the more chaotic and less organized New Age Mutants, with whom she's been with since.
Sunrise
Throughout the years Amp grew as a person, though she's still the punchy, brutish, overzealous girl she always was... she's also become a Hero in her own right. Keeping herself in check, and wanting her own independence, she's opened up a mechanic shop in King's Row, 'Amp Up'. Using her knowledge of mechanical engineering from her Freakshow days, and a touch of her own powers, she became known as the girl who could fix anything... or at least explode it spectacularly.
Her powers as well grew, now able to amplify her own kinetic energy into absolutely devastating physical attacks, feeding off any nearby villains to further enhance her strikes. Now she prefers to be in the thick of things, all eyes on her, busting heads for good.
Relations
Friends
Voltium - The leader of the New Age Mutants, Amp at first hated his guts because of the constant picking on, but both eventually came to an understanding about how similar they are. She holds a bit of respect for his fighting abilities, but finds him unstable and not very reliable at times.
Brutal Badger - Amp respects her fighting abilities, but still sees her as little more than an opponent to be bested.
Enemies
Westin Phipps - Amp wants nothing more than to get revenge on him for every experience and misfortune he's caused Haven House, including the death of The Quest, but she knows the foothold he has on the people's minds, and in Arachnos. She's since long given up revenge, focusing her income on providing as best she can for the members of Haven House.
Huntsman McGee - A Huntsman who was specifically assigned to capture and bring back Amplifier alive. His luck always leads him to the right place, but his lack of skill usually makes his operations fail. He's been hunting her for almost seven years unsuccessfully, though Amp finds it to be a fun distraction, almost as if it was a game between the two of them.
