...led by some wonderous power, I am fated to journey hand in hand with my strange heroes and to survey the surging immensity of life, to survey it through the laughter that all can see and through the tears unseen and unknown by anyone.

Character History

FAMILY: Major Victorious was born in New York city, but his family moved to Paragon when he was about a year old, and he's grown up there ever since. The son of a decorated Air Force General, Victor wanted only to make his father proud, and as soon as he was old enough,he joined the Air Force. A natural born pilot, Victor....given the callsign Victorious by his fellow pilots, became the youngest Ace pilots in American history, though he could never tell anybody about the Operations which earned him such status. Need to Know, and all that.

RIKTI INVASION: When Paragon came under attack during the first Rikti Invasion, Victor's Fighter Squadron was dispatched to assist. Not that you hear too much about the purely human soldiers who fought during the first Invasion. Victor was never terribly bitter over that though. He didn't join the Air Force for the Glory. His performance during the first invasion was Impressive enough to catch the eye of Miss Liberty, and when she put together her Longbow organization, she specifically requested the president allow her to put Victor in charge of her Chasers. (See Longbow Officer.)

Shortly thereafter, during a small-scale Rikti incursion over Peregrine Island's Portal Corps, Victor's Chaser was shot down. He crashed into a lab that was housing a number of strange chemicals and energy devices from other dimensions. Some combination of these strange alien devices and chemicals resulted in Victor developing his own super powers, though if not for a young Mutant girl, Victor might not have lived long enough to realize this. His initial Crash injuries, and the toxic exposure he'd suffered nearly killed him.

Liberty Rose saw his crash however, and hastened to try and save him. SERAPH scientists now suspect that Victor's exposure to Liberty Rose's mutant bioenergy powers may have been the pivotal catalyst that made the difference between Victor dying of toxic exposure and crash trauma, and his body and physiology adapting to the strange energies to which he'd been exposed.

In a very real sense, Victor owes both his life, and the man he is today to Liberty Rose, and as such has remained her faithful and steadfast ally ever since. Due to his unique newfound abilities, and the general agreement that his powers are better suited to keeping the villainous elements of Paragon and the Rogue Isles in check, Victor was allowed an early retirement from both the Air Force, and Longbow, though he remains affiliated with both.

RECENT EVENTS: In late June '07, at the invitation of Solairis, Major Victorious and Liberty Rose together became members of The Justiciars.

Towards the end of a patrol, Major Victorious witnessed a meteoric crash in Perez Park. He found the "meteor" was a space capsule from when he rescued a golden-skinned female. He took the alien to Liberty Rose and they called her Illuminare, misunderstanding the terms she used for herself. In time, the Major and Illuminare learned each others' languages and fell in love; she registered as a hero under the name Bright Lady, in order to work near the Major. After about a year, her brother, Naro, located the cast-away and indicated that her rank required her to return to their home planet which was fighting off an invasion by the entities known on Earth as Shivan. Major Victorious elected to go with Nara and Naro, and be part of their resistance forces.

Powers

Super strength and high level invulnerability. The Major's body can generate any form of energy or radiation he desires. He can also absorb radiation from the area around him and has used this ability to minimize collateral damage from nuclear accidents....or not-so-accidents...by absorbing the fallout into himself. He can also manipulate magnetic properties of his own body to generate flight powers. With time and practice he expects to soon be able to bend light energy around him, and become invisible, and to even be capable of releasing his internal energy stores in destructive ranged bursts.

Other Abilities

An ace pilot, who's comfortable in the cockpit of just about any flight craft he's ever encountered.

Limitations

His ability to manipulate non-internal energy is severely limited. Absorbing ambient energy into himself is about the extent of it.

Weapons/Arsenal

While he has no use for them, he is well trained in in most firearms and explosive weaponry, from his military training.
