The Pariah Project is a small, egalitarian supergroup headquartered on Talos Island, having no "leaders" and using consensus decision-making as its governing structure. The Project is deliberately not a high-profile group, though it has its share of well-known figures.

The Project chose its name based on the "social outcast" nature of many of its members, recognizing that some individuals are "outcast" not necessarily by the will of society, but by their own preference. The common denominator in the group's membership is that they are predominantly heroes who don't quite "fit" other teams, for whatever reason.
