Background:
The hero today known as Phoenix has existed for centuries, able to escape the monotony which plagues other immortals by a constant cycle of death and rebirth. Though his physical form may vary, he is always a master of fire, and possessed of mighty wings which carry him through the air. For many years, Phoenix wandered the world, never finding anyone else like himself.
One day, while investigating the cause of a mysterious fire in Steel Canyon, Phoenix discovered an infant girl with brilliant orange hair, tiny claws, and a pair of small wings, laying happily in the middle of a scorching blaze. He took the girl with him, to raise her and ponder the mystery of her existence. When she grew old enough to speak and recover the memories of her former life, she told him she was a "Phoenix changeling," a human and a phoenix combined into one being through Alchemy.
Taking the girl as his sidekick, Phoenix and his daughter today fight crime as a powerful force for good.
