The Fault
Crey. His clearest, earliest memory is Crey. For four years now it's been Crey.He awakens in a lab, screaming. His arms hurt from the needles and he has a headache from what came from the needles. As always his mind was filled with that buzzing sensation with which he associated with the feeling of reading someone's mind, but he wasn't reading anyone's mind... Was he? He hurt all over... He couldn't remember why. It felt like something was wrong with him but he couldn't turn his head to look himself over because he was trapped (like a rat I'm trapped like a little white lab rat) in some machine they were using to work on him again.
"Just close your eyes and go back to sleep ... (it cuts out the memory always cuts out here because that's where his name is said his full name not just his first name he knows that much it's Max) ... One more test and then it will all be over, very, very soon."
The scientist approaches him holding some sort of helmet and he knows that the helmet spells his doom if it's ever allowed to fulfill its intended purpose. Luckily, Max was planning for this day.
Psi-Smic
Max doesn't know a whole lot about his past. He remembers little tidbits of pop culture, his first name, some of his middle school career- He never managed to get to high school- and the agonizing four years he spent as an experimental project of Crey Industries. Born a mutant, Max had various psionic capabilities, including telepathy. Eventually, one of Crey's "talent scouts" discovered him and captured him for one of their "projects." Although Max was never sure of the exact nature of the experiment, he knew that they needed his psionic power in order to allow him to control some form of crystal. One day, he managed to break free of Crey's laboratories during a routine exercise, taking his new and strange power with him. He was nearly recaptured on Mercy Island, but thanks to the timely aid of the Shadow Spiders thanks to a tip from one of their contacts within Crey, the father of one of their members, he managed to beat back his pursuers and in the process find a new family.

Simi'Kraz: The Story Thus Far
As Max came to find a home outside of Crey's laboratories, he began to frequent Pocket D in order to meet new people. One such person he met was (unbeknownst to him at the time) Simi'Kraz, the second-in-command of Abyss Empire. Simi'Kraz began to flirt with Max in order to gain access to the Asgard, the Shadow Spider's home base and space ship, to search for information regarding their former leader, Starkweather, in relation to Abyss Empire.
Max fell for Simi's tricks, even allowing her to wear his goggles, although he'd assumed both that he was getting his goggles back and that he was merely making friends with the girl, as he'd already had a girlfriend at the time.
Max took Simi onto the ship, where Simi noticed the bridge and convinced Max to allow her to look at it. Reluctantly, Max complied, and the two entered the bridge, Simi seeming to have a purpose once within, making her way to a specific computer. After cryptically apologizing to Max, Simi revealed herself as an Ash Demon, the second in command of the Abyss Empire and its First General, and proceeded to, in Max's own words, " shank the computer!" and download information from it. Max quickly called upon Sarah Nightingale, and attacked the Ashen girl with telekinesis. Simi'Kraz turned into dust and quickly reformed, and, as Sarah hit the scene, disappeared. After apologizing to Sarah, Max noticed what was wrong and exclaimed "...Dammit! She still has my goddamn goggles!"
Their next meeting was inevitable, as Max's goggles carried much sentimental value to him, and he was determined to get them back. On a particularly bad evening, Max was storming off from the blue-side bar of Pocket D only to run into Simi ( "Just to fucking make my evening,"). With his friend (or more?) Mitzi Webster in tow, Max reclaimed his goggles and proceeded to verbally vent some of his pent up aggression unto Simi. After a brief conversation between Simi'Kraz and Mitzi, during which Max's current girlfriend, Speed Check, or Sylan, had arrived, it had seemed that the the three had no more business to attend to, but the Ash Demon claimed contrary, stating that she had a message to deliver; she then attacked Max with a bolt of black fire, which, much to Max's chargrin, was bodily intercepted by Mitzi. Max went on the offensive as Sylan tended to Mitzi, other members of the Shadow Spiders arriving on the scene to aid Max, such as Mr. Black Hood. Markel Smythe arrived soon after to break up the confrontation, but Max had a feeling that that wasn't the end of it.
As it happens, Max's hunch was correct. One day, while hanging out in Pocket D with Mitzi and Sylan, Max observed Simi'Kraz peering at him from across the dance floor. Max stared back as the conversation between the three died away, a small grin slipping onto his face as the Ash Demon approached. As a bit of banter began, news began to spread to the rest of the Spiders, and soon Firepaw666, Hood, and Kaleigh Malfyre arrived, ready to back Max up if he needed help, but fully aware that this was his fight. After asking for Max's permission to record the fight, to which Max replied "whatever," Simi stated that she was ready to fight, warning Max that if she won, she would kill him. Max stated that she "can try," and begun to fight. During the fight, various people made bets on the two combatants, the bets going anywhere from fifty dollars to somewhere in the millions. As it'd turn out, those who bet on Max were about to have their money, as he'd won the fight, Simi'Kraz stating that in order to continue, she would have to transform, telling Max that he was the winner. Although he celebrated, Simi'Kraz warned him that she would still be attempting to kill him.
Although Max hasn't seen Simi'Kraz since, she has attacked Sylan, in order to garner a reaction from Max. However, Max was on a date with his new girlfriend, Mitzi, and Hood hadn't told him about the events that were transpiring, not wanting to interrupt his date.
Once Max had gotten word of this, he'd had enough. He tracked down Simi in the D again, with Mitzi in tow, who had begun to train with a pair of handguns. He found her, with another Ashen, and Grinning Guillotine. Rather than a one-on-one, the fighting this time turned into a two-on-two, with the Ashen Xa'Phan assaulting Max and Mitzi as well as Simi'Kraz. This fight took a turn for the different when Simi'Kraz captured Max, and took him to the home base of the Abyss Empire. There, Max and Simi fought harder than ever, and pushed each other farther than they'd ever pushed each other before. Max caused his crystal-based mutation to accelerate further, giving him crystalline armor, and Simi revealed a form that Max had never seen before. Eventually, when Max was all but about to pass out from the constant assault of Simi's fire-based attacks, and a particularly nasty wall of balefire, Simi had grown exhausted as well, and called it a tie... for now.
The Crash, The Slumber
Some time after that last fight with Simi'Kraz, the Shadow Spiders' ship, the Asgard, was attacked by a Rikti battleship, and after a vicious battle, was sent earth-bound, crash-landing in the Canadian wilderness. Prior to that, Max had been experiencing an anomaly with his powers-- The strange crystal that he commanded had been growing on his back! He and Hood went to Aria for examination. Sometime after she had examined him, the Rikti struck the Asgard. In the ensuing chaos, Max was knocked unconscious in the med-bay. When the Asgard crashed, Max was somehow blown off-board. In the time of recovery following the attack, Max's absence went relatively unnoticed. When the Asgard finally took off again, it had left a passenger behind. But being unconscious in the Canadian wilderness was the worst of Max's problems...

Mitzi Webster -- "Mitzi... Wow. I'm lucky to be with her. I'll never let anyone hurt her on my watch again." -- Max and Mitzi were close very shortly after they met, growing closer and closer until, one day, Max had met Sylan and the two became an item. Although Max was aware of Mitzi's affections for him, and his own for her, he was in a situation that he didn't know how to get himself out of, until Kaleigh Malfyre set him straight. Mitzi and Max always have each other's back, and Max has taken a personal vow to protect Mitzi no matter what.
Mr. Black Hood -- "He's... sort of like my big brother now. He looks after me." -- Mr. Black Hood, who joined the Shadow Spiders very shortly after Max, acts as a sort of father/brother figure to Max, who could probably use some guidance anyway. The two first became close when Max, in an angry mood, stormed into the Asgard's dojo requesting that someone "knock me out." Hood sparred with Max, not quite knocking him out due to an interruption but certainly giving Max quite a nosebleed, somehow creating a strong bond between them.
Speed Check -- "Sylan's awesome. I'm glad that we could still be friends and all." -- Sylan had infatuated Max just days before he'd intended to ask out Mitzi, throwing the three of them into a love triangle that would last for about a week. Max cares very strongly for Sylan, and although he chose Mitzi, he still considers Sylan to be one of his best friends.
Kaleigh Malfyre -- "Kal... She's smart. Freaky and weird, but smart. I'm glad she's around..." -- Kaleigh has helped Max in a variety of situations, both regarding relationships and his dealings with Simi'Kraz. He looks up to her, although he might not admit it to her face.
Codename Champagne -- "Cham's pretty cool. Hopefully she can teach me a few tricks with this psionic stuff." -- Max looks up to Champagne as a psychic, and secretly hopes that he'll be able to impress her as a psychic himself.

Markel Smythe -- "Gandalf-- Er, Markel? ...Meh." -- Although the one of the leaders of the Shadow Spiders, Max doesn't think very highly of Markel due to some choices he'd made which Max didn't agree with. However, Max respects him and would consider him if he ever needed help.
Firepaw666 -- "Firepaw's pretty cool... I just wish I knew how he can talk into my head." -- Max respects Firepaw, one of the people who originally saved him from Crey, but is unnerved by Firepaw's uncanny ability to project his thoughts to telepaths.

Simi'Kraz -- "She pisses me off. A lot. Can she stop trying to kill me now?" -- Max doesn't hate Simi'Kraz, per se, but seeing as she's trying to kill him, he's definitely not about to call her his buddy or anything. He's promised not to kill her, but he doesn't intend to back down from any challenge she presents to him.
