Powers and abilities

Savant's powers stem from his inherent psionic talent, and include the ability to create force fields of psychokinetic force and project bolts of pure psionic energy. He is also capable of psychokinetic flight and can mentally accelerate his own body to run at great speeds.

Biography

Brent Harris was born to mutant parents who dedicated their efforts to leading the quintessentially "normal" life, but their son, with his unique pedigree, was destined for something greater. Throughout his adolescence, Brent hid and suppressed his psionic abilities so that he and his parents might live out their dream of normalcy. But that dream ended during Brent's tenure at Paragon University. He returned home after his sophomore year to find his parents murdered by hired assassins of an underground anti-paranormal organization. In an act of defiant courage, Brent unleashed his psychokinetic powers to detain and expel his would-be assailants from his home.

With his parents gone and a "normal life" beyond reach, Brent moved to Paragon City to aid in its reconstruction in the aftermath of the Rikti War. He became known as "Savant," a psionic of the first order, and devoted his time and abilities to fighting the various criminal organizations that still plagued the city. Shortly after coming to Paragon, Savant became a member of the Justice Force for a number of years before ultimately establishing his own superhero group Evolution. Evolution was full of some of Paragon's most renowned and powerful heroes. (Such as Goldbrick.) Many of these heroes, trusted friends and advisors, eventually left the city to pursue personal endeavors, leaving Savant feeling more and more detached as newer superheroes took up the cause. After almost two years of leadership in Evolution, he took his own hiatus from crimefighting.

A year later, Savant returned to Paragon City and found that the battle with Lord Recluse and Arachnos to be more intense than when he left. Although he knew that he would do the most good as part of a hero organization, he found Evolution to be largely composed of strangers who had joined the group after his departure.

A chance meeting with other heroes returning to Paragon City inspired Savant to help create a new paranormal organization. With a host of other veteran superheroes, the group Frontline was established, and Savant again found himself an unassuming leader among some of Paragon's finest. Under Frontline's new banner, he has rekindled his desire to take down the deadliest of the city's enemies.
