Vanguard Dossier: Souma Mimura
Update- 9.4.2998
Vanguard Operative Jamie Thompson, codenamed "Tiny Atomic", brought VOTC member Souma Mimura, codenamed "Shifting Seraphim", to headquarters at 1300 hours. Citing a number of mental abberations present in Agent Mimura- and taking into consideration several very obvious physical changes- she was brought under observation and tested along a number of avenues. Results clearly demonstrate a diminished capacity for logical analysis (though, considering her initial adroitness for such, she is merely slightly above average as of the submission of this document) along with an altered manner of speech and severe memory loss. While not completely amnesiac, Agent Mimura can no longer recall specific details throughout the vast majority of the past year, including those leading up to her enrollment with the VOTC initiative. As such, she has been removed from active duty until such time as she regains her memory and recovers her ability to process information in a logical manner. She is not to be considered discharged but rather on extended medical leave.

Agent possesses a noted increase in transdimensional signal strength. Prior to her disappearance, agent maintained a low-grade signature as appropriate for one with a passive connection to one of the outer realms. Agent has since acquired a radial signature more in accordance with a denizen of an outer realm. Agent is uncertain as to why this might be, but stated that memories of some amount of time spent in the Dreamlands are present and theorized that they might be responsible. Signature is stable- observation is recommended but likely unnecessary.
Arrival
After her disappearance into the Dreamlands, Souma Mimura was first seen sitting on the pier in Peregrine Island, and was found by Jamie Thompson as she returned- alone- from her trip to England. Once she recognized her friend, she brought her to her home in Founder's Falls, where she and her father and twin sister- Jessi Thompson, also known as Mini Marble- took turns making sure Souma did not find any trouble she was not ready to handle. Unfortunately, it is difficult to keep tabs on someone as resourceful as Souma Mimura, and she routinely wanders away to find something to do. On a few occasions, this has meant going to the club Pocket D, but at least once the girl has found her way into dangerous territory, nearly getting all the way to Dark Astoria before Jamie, with the help of Atti Stargleam, found and stopped her, instructing her not to go there again until she "gets herself better." This has become one of her standing goals, along with regaining the ability to defend herself and helping Jamie and Jessi find "someone they deserve," a result of Jamie's comment that she thinks Souma finally has a chance at being happy if she can leave her past behind her. This simply confused Souma, as she is happy now, but she took Jamie at her word as she so often does nowadays, and decided that if she deserved someone to make her happy, the twins obviously do as well. Unfortunately, as romance seems to be completely over her head, this will likely prove a long and largely fruitless endeavor.
Friends and Acquaintances
-Jamie Thompson, the heroine known as Tiny Atomic. Jamie is somewhere between sister, guardian, advocate and best friend for the returned Souma. She feels that without the burdens of her past on her, her "sis" might finally have a shot at happiness and has been doing everything she can to encourage Souma to leave her past behind her whenever she possibly can. She is also the reason that Souma is now enlisted with the All-Star Teen Sentinels.
-Jessi Thompson, the heroine known as Mini Marble. The twin sister of Jamie and an ex-girlfriend of Souma's. Although Souma is genuinely happy to spend time with and around Jessi, her muddled memories of making Jessi terribly unhappy for reasons she cannot recall and her opinion that Jessi laughs more when she is not in the room have lead Souma to enjoy Jessi's happiness from a distance, opting to avoid interacting with the girl any more than she thinks Jessi will appreciate.
-Atti Stargleam, a hero/ine Souma met once, early in her career as a heroine, and has since become reacquainted with. She recognized Atticus despite his recent shift in gender, insisting that he still "dreams the same" when asked how she recognized her new friend. Atti seems slightly unsure how to handle Souma, but is generally supportive of her interactions and activities with others. He also keeps an eye out for her, helping Jamie keep tabs on her whereabouts on at least one occasion.
-Cassandra Jacobs, a heroine Souma met in the Youth League. The ex-fiancée of Lumena, another Youth League member, their friendship was shattered by a misunderstanding some time before Souma's disappearance. Upon their reintroduction and the subsequent discovery that Souma cannot even remember what caused their initial feud- despite being very aware that at some point they were both furious at each other- Cassie has reinstated their friendship and offered to help protect Souma. She has proven very affectionate towards her newly returned friend, but hasn't done anything untoward. Cassie has since followed her friends into the ranks of the ASTS.
-American Sun, a hero with the ASTS. Though they got along well enough on their first meeting, she has since become very angry with him- which is difficult for her, as she is unsure how to handle the emotion. He scorched Jamie's pants and set fire to Squirrelette's belt. Souma wants to get back at him, but has no idea how she would go about doing such a thing.
-A girl named Llaine has also approached Souma and expressed interest in her abilities. They have spoken on a handful of occasions, and Llaine has revealed that she is a Doll Maker. Souma remains confused as to exactly how the process proceeds... however, Llaine has since invited both her and Jamie over for tea, and explained several details of her relationship with Amara and Lorna. She has also given Souma a book which allows her to go to her home whenever she likes.
-Souma has met a few All-Star Teen Sentinels since her return. Kid Vigil, Little Sammy Seal and Atti Stargleam are among those to whom she has been introduced.
-She has also met several members of the Guardians of the Golden Age. Parlor Tricks, Dawson Lane and Ms America among them.
