And lo, that day was foretold of, when the catgirls would come into epic conflict with the schoolgirls.

"For our schoolgirls are myriad like the stars, you cannot defeat us," sayeth the sushi girls.

With a heart of malice, the leader of the catgirls said one word. "Nyao! n_n!"

In the end, none survived the bloody battle.

Sushi Roster & Joining

Understanding the Roster

The Sushi roster is a complex and involved matter, with meticulous and nearly bureaucratic details. For some, it may seem a mystery as to why it is so restrictive. It is the aim of this short forward to explain this for the average player of City', and especially for those that are interested in joining the Squad. Each Clan is split into two unbalanced internal factions, the first half being genuinely tracked lineage blood members and the second are recovered distant relatives filling the ranks. An additional faction exists: the Genji Clan, which is a catch-all group formed by the Squad's parent organization, The Zettai Unmei Corporation. Many of it's members are totally unrelated young women from Japan that joined the Squad via cosplay contests, recruiting and PR stunts. These "conscripts" are oathbound to the Squad -- and no less loyal than any of the other girls -- but have led lives steeped in the mystique of Sushi Schoolgirl Squad anime... sometimes, they can even seem more loyal than the families themselves.

Each family consists of 9 members, one of each color and representing the sentai squad format from the 1980s anime of much fame. The anime was similar to Sailor Moon, but held a constantly rotating cast of members from different families. This meant that many of the families on which the show was based (see further down the page) were represented at one time or another and have a claim to fame over it. To maintain a general feeling of "rotation" and uniqueness, the Zettai Unmei Corporation maintains a tight grip on the family sub-squads to ensure each girl has distinct and trademarked power sets. In a few cases, this has been relaxed but it should never be expected.

Family members marked with a * are considered that individual family's matriarchal figure, and in charge of that clan's local dealings within the Paragon chapter.

Removal Policy

Just to leave it to public knowledge and make the SG more accessible, we're posting our policy here. This way a new player that wants to join the squad can know with forewarning what kind of rules we keep in place. We're not terribly strict, but to hold a spot in the SG requires you be active at least once every 30 days if you're below level 20. Anyone above level twenty gets special consideration for at least playing -that- far. But anyone off longer than 2 months and under 32 that we can't get in touch with, might see the same fate unless they make arrangements ahead of time. Characters reaching the status of Student Council get longterm downtime privileges, but it is our hope that these characters will make it that far through regular play. :)

Anyone with a Sushi removed from the group can always contact one of the leaders and ask for a re-invite. We can't promise that your Sushi will get her original color back, but we can always give you another color within the same family.

Sushi Uniform: The Sera-fuku

Contents of the Fuku:

Hair: Any.
Shoulders: Any.
Shirt: Baseball Shirt
Sleeves: Puffy.
Chest: Anything that fills the stomach gap, or open midriff.
Chest Detail: Scarf1.
Gloves: Small/Flared
Belt: V or Peak
Skirt: Any pleated skirt.
Boots: Loose socks.

"What can I change?"
That is an interesting question with a long answer. To be honest, you can tweak most of the outfit as long as it closely resembles the one in the image when you are done. People need to be able to see you, at a distance and think "Is that?.. oh, god! It's a Sushi!". We only ask the one costume slot of you, but you can customize the hell out of it. Many choose to change the belt, bare midriff, switch gloves, etc. You name it. A lot add animals to their shoulders, or go for a more "sporty" look and that is all fine. But in the end, the fuku very much makes the Sushi.

The S3™ Recruitment Seminar & TV ad[1]

A young girl dressed in a camo Schoolgirl outfit with a baton and a green beret leans forward and waves frantically with a bright cheerful smile.

Konnichiwa!

Welcome to Sushi Training Camp!

This is where Sushi Girls are made or broken. We at Sushi Training Camp Incorporated teach you to be the best Sushi Girl you can be, so that you can save Paragon City's non-assertive Schoolgirls from Giant Robots, Zombies & Tentacle Monsters!

The girl walks over to a chalk board where everything has been pre-written in preparation. She points to "Step 1" with her baton.

Step 1: What Sushi Girl says you?

Sushi Girls come in many flavors, and although they make look same, each Sushi girl is her own unique snowflake! Each with there own unique color, a cool gimmick and a power combo that no other Sushi have!

All Sushi Girls however, are Magic in Origin and share a similar base costume, to which Sushi Girls are encouraged to take a unique twist on to make it there own!

She points down to the next line.

Step 2: What Family is my Sushi from?

Sushi Girls come from Several Families, each with there own last name and power theme!

So for example:

We ask that at least one power, Primary or Secondary, be linked to the Sushi Family, while the other can be anything you wish. That power combo will then be yours, unique to your Sushi Girl!

She points to the next with a bright smile.

Step 3: The Sushi Schoolgirl Uniform!

All Sushi Girls have the same basic costume, A Sailor Schoolgirl Outfit that is Sooooooooo Cuuuuute!

Let's take a look up close, shall we? Suki has been kind enough to Pose in something other than whipped cream bikini!

The camera quickly Pans to Suki modeling the outfit, making all sorts of fun, and tantalizing poses.

As you can see, The Basic Schoolgirl outfit, with exception to the Scarf, the ends of the sleeves, Skirt and Shoes that are all a color representing that particular Sushi Schoolgirl from that Family!

So there is only one Blue Miho, one Red Miho, one Yellow Miho, one Blue Mieko, one Red Mieko, one Yellow Mieko and so on!

The camera Pans back to our host who gives a wink, a thumbs up and then smacks the baton onto the next Step.

Step 4: So what is available?

All Sushi Girl colors are as follows.

Which Make Seven Sushi Girls per Family! With One Space left over for the Sushi Girl Special Friends! Such as any Big brothers or Cute Bois that want to help out Sushi's, as well as entire group of "The Guy" or Fan Club members.

She drops down to the final line.

Step 5:The Guy? But, Sushi Girls, Noh?

Well everyone needs a pet, no? Be that Guy in Tuxedo... Super Giant Mecha Robot... strange perverted Kitty... weird floating mini tentacle monster... Sushi School Girl Squad have spots open for strange pet of each family!

All of "The Guys" are their own unique brand, completely up to your discretion and creative juices, but we do hope that all of our "The Guy's" will play the Straight Man role to help balance out, as well as enable the Sushi Madness!

The camera pans back to the Camo Girl.

And that ends your crash course in Sushi Schoolgirl Squad! We hope you find this video to be educational and informative! Any Questions, we do best to answer, kay!? So send them to our PO BOX and we get back to you as soon as possible.

And as the Sushi Girls say:

The camera Pans to the entire Sushi Schoolgirl Squad which pulls a Sentai Pose before simultaneously leaping into the air shouting:

FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

The image freezes with all the girls in air and a disclaimer scrolls across the bottom of the screen:

"Disclaimer: All Sushi School Girl Squad Members are 18 years of age and assumed to be attending a two year college-preparatory school. Sushi Schoolgirl Squad is a Registered Trade Mark of the Zettai Unmei Corporation. Any Similarity to other Japanese Schoolgirl Clichés real or fictitious is purely coincidental. No Japanese Schoolgirls were harmed in the making of this promotional video... although a few did get sick from eating too much Pocky and had to pay a visit to the nurse's office."

Modern Day Sushi

The Hello Sushi Lunchbox®, order yours today! Cash and credit accepted!

The Sushi Schoolgirl Squad™ has undergone two distinctly different periods in its history, the first a classical period filled with traditional Japanese life, demon hunting, and survival at all costs against a harsh reality thrust upon them. This era was fraught with its own unique dangers and brought about the creation of the squad in its first incarnation. At the time, no official title was given to the girls of the squad because they were as of yet unknown even by their families. This would change in time, and a strong familial pride would form around the traditions of their daughters becoming strong in magic. (See Sushi Lore)

Following the traditional Sushi Period™ was the Industrial Revolution and large-scale war. Japan as a country was in turmoil from the mid-1800s through to the 1960s as internal strife and eventual restructuring of government changed much of the Japanese way of life. One fledgling company forming after World War II had a stroke of brilliance and began snatching up marketing rights for their future investment, the Zettai Unmei Corporation. Considering the hard times, the families associated with the magical daughters were consulted and a generous offer was put forward that would not see full fruition until well into the 1980s. Once begun, this world-altering cultural sensation would become a marketing extravaganza!

The new generation of the Sushi Schoolgirl Squad™ (and later known in some manga as S3™) started as a fictional sentai-themed anime and manga, moved on to full-scale merchandising and eventually into world-wide fandom. Little did many know that real families existed matching those of the anime figures, and assumed it was all fiction until the movement blossomed in the early '90s. While heroes all over the world were starting to undergo study and more were born every day, the long-running Sushi Squad bloodlines began to surface in the form of illegitimate children, distant cousins, and lost relations. This forced the families into the open enough that they had to band together and collect their losses. What at first seemed a terrible break in secrecy became a booming media frenzy as the long-running anime and manga series were validated as being real! Suddenly, celebrity status was awarded to any daughter of the families that began to exhibit abilities openly, and many had to be pushed into hiding to avoid the paparazzi and continue their studies.

Throughout the 1990s, from the shadows and in secret, S3 worked in small groups of daughters to fight crime and the occasional Arch-Villain. Most often they responded to cries of distress involving massive robots, demonic entities and the occasional undead uprising. Toward the end of the 90s, the heads of each family gathered to discuss the future of their daughters, grand-daughters and the new generations to come. It was decided that for too long they had allowed their goals of protecting the world slip behind those of protecting themselves, and approached the Zettai Unmei Corporation to take control of their creative rights. This was unexpected by the company, as they themselves had largely forgotten the source of their marketing rights and the contract dated back further than their computer systems went. After discovering the original scroll containing the contract in an old vault, they unrolled it to settle the dispute over rights once and for all. In calligraphy and spanning over 200 feet in length, it was a highly decorated contract unlike any modern lawyer had seen and riddled with loopholes for control that were unexplainable in hindsight. Nearly prophetic statements, declaring events and situations barely past in the world's history had been predicted and used to mark the points at which creative control would be handed back to the families themselves. It would seem that not all of the marketing had gone to waste, as the company became a 50-50 partner in all revenue garnered in return for their services as agent to the latest generation of daughters.

The newest generation was eager to pick up the torches from their mothers, having been raised on their own marketing. As children they had watched the S3™ clips between other shows on television, they had taken Hello Sushi® lunchboxes in school and worn impressively designed costumes on Halloween and in cosplay. High on their own hype, the first batch of daughters went onto the street as The Sushi Schoolgirl Squad™ and began cleaning up Tokyo.

With the onset of world-wide Rikti invasion in May 2002, however, it became apparent that the Sushi families would have to spread out and try to assist the world's superpowers in their efforts. Too many demons were surfacing for the one small group of officially recognized girls, and a second had to be formed. And then a third. Then a fourth. And following the model originally designed for Freedom Corps by Ms. Rebecca Foss, the Zettai Unmei Corporation set out to not only corner the world's anime market but to take an active hand in protecting it from demons, monsters, super villains and any subversive element possible. Their weapons? Darling smiles, kindly mispoken words, flashing panties... and the crushing weight of a super-strength wielded Hello Sushi® Lunchbox.

In 2007 the first Sushi Schoolgirl Squad franchise officially shifted its attention out of Asia and came to North America. Its headquarters? Paragon City.

Sushi Lore

Once, when the land suffered under the cruel attentions of demons and other oni so that it was not safe to leave one's home at night, and to leave a village was fraught with danger so thick were the demons on the land, it came to pass that the ancestor spirits took pity on the people and summoned nine sacred warriors and their families to a far away shrine.

Each warrior was noble, brave and true and each also had a young daughter. Each day for a week the warriors purified themselves and prayed at the shrine for further guidance, but none came. The girls all played together and laughed and acted as young girls do. On the seventh night, after their fathers had fallen into the deep sleep that only one who has suffered purification for a week can do, each of the daughters were awakened by an odd feeling that someone had called their name.

One by one they crept from their beds and left their sleeping families, being careful to not to be heard or seen leaving as it was thought unwomanly to go sneaking about at night alone. Of course we know that although it may be unwomanly, it is just the thing that all daughters are naturally skilled at.

They followed the voices, calling to them until they all stood before the shrine. The great stone of the shrine glowed with an inner light and several of the ancestor spirits appeared before them. In awe they all knelt, each feeling unworthy to be seeing what their brave fathers could not even after a week of purification.

"Fear not," the spirits said. "We summoned your fathers here so that they would bring you here as you could not come by yourselves, alone across this land filled with vicious demons." Silently the daughters waited, not feeling the least bit surprised by this turn of events because as we all know all daughters secretly know that they are special.

"You are here to receive our blessings and gifts to fight the oni and demons that stalk the lands," the spirits continued. The sharp excited inhale of all nine girls echoed in the quiet shrine.

"Stand, daughter of Mizatzu." And she did. "Your father’s blade is quick and sharp as the lightning in the skies, so yours is the gift to command those powerful bolts to strike down those whom you oppose." Mizatsu's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Mizuki." And she did. "Your father is the most skilled at turning the oni's evil attentions so that they attack themselves, and so you shall be granted a measure of their dark power to use against them." Mizuki's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Miho." And she did. "Your father has learned to turn the fire of his temper into an unflagging rage in battle, so too will you have that element to command to visit an inferno upon your enemies." Miho's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Mieko." And she did. "Your father is as deadly, fierce and cold in battle as the ice in the north, so you will have that element to command a freezing doom to your foes." Mieko's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Michi." And she did. "Your father's battle skill with weapons and without is unsurpassed, so too will you be able to wield all weapons or none with that skill in your own battles." Michi's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Miyoko." And she did. "Your father is the famed warrior bard, inspiring friends and withering foes with his songs, so too will you be able to use your voice to aid or kill on the battlefield." Miyoko's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Midori." And she did. "Your father has the strength and endurance of the hardest stone, and so will you have that element to command to shield yourself or to fall as an avalanche sweeping all before it." Midori's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Hoshi." And she did. "Your father thinks always of other before himself, and so too is your heart large enough to house another, a spirit to aid you and guide you in all things." Hoshi's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"Stand, daughter of Sakiko." And she did. "Your father's honor shines in all things, and so too will you glow with that power to lend support to friends and poison the souls of those without honor themselves." Sakiko's daughter bowed her head and accepted her gift.

"But why us?" Asked the daughter of Miho, the boldest girl there, but the spirits did not need to answer as the answer leaped blindingly fast into the quickest thinker, the daughter of Mizatzsu.

"Because the Oni would have little fear of a girl and become incautious as they already are of our fathers and brothers."

"Yes," agreed the spirits. "Your powers will be like the sweet delicate meat fermenting in the bitter rice roll. You shall be as the sushi is.

And thus did the Sushi Girls come to be.
