If you're cool, Zoe probably digs you.
Friends and Associates
- Dead Technologies: Her business, first love and priority. Zoe has worked hard to build her company and continues to do so, treating her employees more like family and harboring a loyalty toward them above anyone else.
- Dr. Death Metal: Zoe spends quite a bit of time with Doc. They're often seen giving each other a tough time, and Zoe tends to kick him often for his vulgar, rude statements, but it might seem that there's just a bit more there. It's recently become public knowledge that they are indeed involved in a relationship, and she has moved in with him at his boat house in Nerva Archipelago.
- Turner: John was Zoe's first boyfriend, and while the two had a short-lived relationship, she will always care deeply for him. Should he ever be in trouble or need anything, she will drop whatever she's doing to be any help she can to him.
- Vertigo judy: Oooh, Judy. Zoe just gets a total kick out of her. There's even a hint of jealousy there, over Judy's outgoing "don't give a shit" nature. Zoe's taken to considering the woman akin to a big sister, and her closest female friend. There's nothing she wouldn't do for Judy.
- Firelight: Julia came to Zoe with a contract, and it didn't take long at all for the two to hit it off. They hang out whenever they get the chance now.
- Sammy Feltner: Sammy's endeared himself to Zoe. Even though they're nearly the same age, she thinks of him as a kid brother and is extremely protective of her shy friend.
- Freak Tech: Zoe cares a lot about Adam--considers him to be the closest thing she has to a 'best friend'. There's never a time she won't be there for him.
- Saaliha: This dark woman completely fascinates Zoe with her ability to communicate without speaking a word, as well as her insistance on sniffing everyone. She's made it her goal to get to know Saaliha better and gain her trust and respect.
- Alexander Zetios: The second of the Senior VP's within Dead Technologies, and someone Zoe trusts with everything she has--her company, her friendship, her words, and her emotions. This is the one friend Zoe knows without a doubt that she can go to with her frustrations and venting, and who will listen quietly or give advice as needed, without judgement, and keep their conversations in confidance.

Enemies
Enemies? Zoe doesn't have any. That she knows of.
Physical
Appearance
Zoe Mathews stands at 5'6" and weighs 115 pounds. Her frame is thin..petite--but under the punky hair, make-up, and metal, she's actually very pretty. Her legs are long, and she's only recently (with a lot of prodding and compliments from friends) beginning to show them off a bit more. She has various piercings: hoops and studs running all the way along the edges of her ears, her earlobes stretched with a small guage plug, a 'monroe' peircing (a small, silver stud just above the right side of her lip), and a bar through her tongue. Her hair ranges in any loud color, depending on her mood at the time, and can change by the week--if not more often. It's obvious to anyone, though, that she's really not much more than a 'late-bloomer' nerd who covers with a punk exterior.
Personality
Zoe can be a bit of a contradiction in her personality. While appearing totally laid back and seeming to be almost a slacker, she actually takes her business very seriously and has immense pride in her work. While she may appear not to care what others think of her, she takes the opinions of those close to her very seriously--to the extent of very hurt feelings if she doesn't meet their approval. While she shows herself to be drama free (as much as anyone -can- be), she is immediately there for others, ready to give advice or just listen, ready to give hugs or go verbally beat the crap out of the offender, ready to involve herself to the point of stress on her part in the lives of those she considers friends. As well, while she can seem to outsiders to be extremely social and out-going, she is actually only so when comfortable. In unfamiliar surroundings, with people she doesn't know, she suffers from a near-crippling social-anxiety. For some reason, unknown to most people, Zoe flat out refuses to cry in front of others. For her to actually break into public tears...would take something extraordinarily horrible.
Powers
Zoe's powers are limited to what any other human is capable of. Fortunately, she was born with a photographic memory and that has aided her immensly in her designs and builds. To survive, as well as make her living, she relies solely on the technological devices and protective gear she builds.
Travel
Zoe designed a pair of 'jumps' as she calls them. This pair of boots jump her from place to place. When asked why she didn't just use rocket boots, she replied, "I did--lame and boring. Jumping's more fun!"
Weaknesses and Limitations
She is only human. She is just as able to die as any other human, since she has no special powers or gifts, other than her intelligence.
Equipment
Zoe's been working on teleportation, and has designed a wristwatch that she can use to teleport her suits (and whatever else she feels like wearing) directly to her body. Ain't fiction fun?
On the ring finger of Zoe's right hand is a very pretty, gold poison ring. Gifted to her by her boyfriend, this ring actually works as a tazer. "For zapping those assholes who try to kiss you."

Character History
Zoe Katherine Mathews was born to Phillip and Carol Mathews on March 9, 1988, in Port Oakes. She and her younger brother, (by two years) Aaron, were well-behaved, soft-spoken, and loved by their parents. Yes...shocking, isn't it? Growing up on the Isles, and being well-adjusted, happy children with only the normal ups and downs that any other child would have..? Well, that was Zoe and Aaron.
Little did Zoe realize, (to this day she is unaware) her father had been recruited (translation: kidnapped and forced) to work for the Council. An engineer by education and trade, Phillip was quite gifted in his field and the Council was certainly not going to let his talents go to waste. At one point, her father did attempt to pull away from the Council, going to trusted friends, collegues, even a hero or two for help out of his situation. Unfortunately, one of Phillip's so-called friends was also working for the Council, with the specific duty of keeping an eye on the family man, and Phillip's efforts were brought directly to the attention of those he was trying to escape. Their answer? An 'accident'. While Carol and Aaron were out shopping one day, they were shot and killed in their car, a lesson to Phillip that he should rethink his attempts to leave the Council, or risk losing his remaining child.
To sheild his daughter, Phillip told her nothing of what he did, who he worked for, or the truth of the deaths of her mother and brother. At eight years of age, Zoe was still innocent enough not to realize anything was wrong--only that her little brother and her mother were in an accident and wouldn't be coming home. It was a sad time, but also a time that brought father and daughter closer.
As Zoe grew older, it became apparent that she was gifted with a photographic memory. The young girl was becoming increasingly bored with school, so her father began bringing home his work, allowing her to help him on his projects, though he still refused to share with her what the projects were for. She quickly began to shine, creating a computer program that would help her design various suits, gloves, gadgets, etc. It seemed that her particular interest was taking the powers of mutant heroes (and sometimes villains), and finding ways to harness and control the release those powers through the gear she would dream up and create.
It didn't take long for the Council to catch wind of her talent, and began talking of 'recruiting' her along with her father. In his attempts to keep her away from these horrible people, he lost his life. All Zoe knows is that her father was involved in a hit and run accident. She was seventeen.
Left without a family, Zoe poured herself into her work. Having graduated highschool early, and knowing that college would only bore her, she began working freelance, making contracts with heroes and villains to design and build her suits and gear for them. It became widespread through the media that the young girl was doing this, and was highly controversial in her stance to simply "do business".
"Who the hell am I to judge?" she would say when asked about her willingness to sell her wares to both sides of the law. Her only stipulation was that she would never deal in weaponry stating that, "Once you've become a weapons dealer, you've kinda' picked a side." By the time she was nineteen, she had such a large client roster that a close friend and mentor, Kassandrian De Luca, suggested that she begin her own business, going so far as to give her the money to do such a thing.
Now, Zoe works hard with Dead Technologies, plays hard with her employees, partners, and friends, and is making quite a name for herself--both in the City and on the Isles as the fun-loving, nerdy, all-too-normal chick who has found her place using only her intelligence.
Note: Character History is a work in progress, and is subject to change.
