Personality
Unlike Clobber-Girl, Tera Volta is acerbic, aggressive, confident to the point of being arrogant and quick to anger. Most other character traits she shares with both the other Tera Summers' operating within our dimension.
Powers
Under her father's studies it was believed her mutant gene was latent. This prompted her father to create a set of armor for her, tapping the power of her mutation. As the use of the armor became more frequent, her mutation evolved, enabling her to use her powers unaided.
Super Strength
Whereas Clobber-Girl externalises her energy to augment her punches, Tera Volta instead internalises it, increasing the force of her blows exponentially. While it's never been tested, it's beleived that Tera Volta can hit as hard without expending as much energy in doing so. While it doesn't look as spectacular, it is equally, if not more, effective.
Electric Armor
A further difference to Clobber-Girl comes in the guise of her EVA unit. As this Tera Summers' Father was dismissed from the Military, he had longer to perfect his work resulting in a much more advance Armour system.
Using a constant discharge of static electricity, EVA softens all but the harshest blows and even provides moderate defense from Psionic attacks.
One feature of note is the "Overdrive" mode, a dangerous yet effective boost to the defense the armour offers. When in Overdrive mode, the nanobots tie directly in to Tera's body, drawing on her energy to provide a boost to its abilities, making her practically invulnerable to all but Psionic attacks. This can not be done for great lengths of time without considerable danger to Tera, and when powered down leaves her weakened and defenseless.
E.V.A
E.V.A, or Environment Variable Armour, is a system designed by her father. Its original intended use was military in nature, though the field testing yielded poor results resulting in the project's cancellation and subsequent dismissal of Doctor Summers (unlike the one present in our dimension). Doctor Tony Summers modified his designs to work with his daughter's latent mutant gene to great success; however, the military declined further funding on the project.
Utilizing billions of nanobots to form the suit, it is an infinitely reconfigurable shell that can adapt to most environmental conditions and is stored within a belt on the user. The suit's settings can be reconfigured using voice commands or attaching the belt to a personal computer via a USB link.
The armor uses a combination of solar power and micro-batteries to power itself, though prolonged use of its powers causes the suit to shut down automatically until it is recharged.
Flight
Her armor provides her with moderate flight abilities.
Character History
High School
Tera's powers manifested themselves in High School around the time she met Courtney Cross. The incident involved her blowing a hole in the side of her school with an energy based concussive blast. The incident was covered up as a gas explosion by the school and Tera quickly set about ensuring her powers were neither seen or used in public.
To do this she set out to find other meta's in her own dimension and learn about control. She finally found and took tutilage from her native dimensions Noisemaze. He taught her via meditation, and other more conventional methods, to internalise her Energy Manipulation powers which in turn increased her strength exponentially.
There were no other gas explosions at her High School.
College
Tera went to college and roomed with her best friend Penny Colt. Penny, being a super-genius, left Tera behind scholastically and socially as she became a darling to her Professor and Assistant, spending most of her time with them both studying and socially. Tera was, of course, invited and attended said social engagements but felt inadequate and out of her depth.
The Professors assitant, Claire, saw Tera as somewhat awkward and took her under her wing and invited Tera along to several non-College related social gatherings which she enjoyed immensley, throwing herself in to the scene with vigour, much to the annoyance of her High School friend and Sweetheart Courtney. However it was Courtney's sister, Carrie, who would play the biggest part in Tera's journey in to villainy.
At one particular social gathering, Tera and Claire were deep in conversation when Carrie confronted them both, armed with a pistol She accused Tera of betraying Courtney and when Claire stood up to defend both herself and Tera of the accusations, Carrie fired the pistol, hitting Claire in the head. The bullet lodged itself in Claire's brain, but left her alive. Thinking Claire to be dead, Tera's rage took over and she bludgeoned Carrie to death, using her powers in public for the first time since High School. Tera fled and was never seen by any of her College mates again.
While it was never disclosed publicly, Tera stole her Father's work and fled the dimension, destroying much of the then fledgling Portal Corporation in her escape. She spent several years moving from dimension to dimension, leaving a trail of destruction and, often, death in her wake, usually seeking out her other dimensional selves and besting them in combat if they were of Meta-Human status. Upon her arrival in our dimension she moved to the Rogue Isles, viewing Paragon's high population of meta-human heroes simply too overwhelming compared with her previous destinations.
the Second Rikti Invasion
The second Rikti Invasion was also the second turning point in Tera's life. The great loss of life to the civilian population of the Isles, coupled with the unwillingness of most of the super-powered population to aid them during the attacks prompted her to take the initiative to help them herself, often holding back wave after wave of invaders single handedly while civilians found shelter and sanctuary.
Once the invasion was over Tera found herself changed. While not considering herself a hero, her purpose on the Isles became one of protection of the populace, distancing herself from Recluse and the Destined Ones to follow her own path, protecting and aiding the citizens of the Isles whenever and wherever possible.
