History

Deep in space, well beyond the concerns of Earth, waged a great war. Two massive armadas clashed against the dim light of dying stars, a last desperate attempt to claim what rubbled planets remained. The Arcturian populace was now completely garrisoned to their space regime, and having no planet to call home, descended on the Cygnian homeworlds in absolute force. There was not much left to defend, but the Cygnian fleet mobilized in its entirety, and the resulting conflict would echo as the last gasps of life through this corner of the universe.

Derelict 01.jpg

The final battles spread across multiple star systems, each scrap of life on a planet squabbled over by the factions like ravenous hounds. Munitions were more abundant than food, and the sorties became doomed cycles of self-destruction. It was only when a remote star collapsed, and a fleet of retreating Cygnian fighters were lost to a black hole did something truly prophetic emerge.

Of the remote and hopelessly lost fleet was one ship destined for a second life. The Cygnian ship known as CMF Rho Majoris was pitched from formation upon the event horizon, and slingshotted into a wormhole. The Rho suffered serious damage and casualties, discarded into unknown blackness. It drifted through the folds of spacetime until a similar disruption spat her out into a remote spiral arm of an unknown galaxy, drifting towards a cluster of planets around a single, young star. It was here that the luck of the Rho had completely changed, as it pulled into Earth's orbit and communicated with the receptive civilization below.

It is not known why their communication methods are similar, or their technology the same, only the elusive wormhole holds these secrets tying the Cygnian world to Earth. One fact is certain, Earth is a haven from the endless war of these distant aliens, and destiny has given the crew of the Rho a second chance.

The Rho now sits in orbit above Earth, silent and drifting, awaiting repairs and a new crew. Its insignia has been unceremoniously obscured, and the ship is now registered simply as "The Derelict" on Earth.

The Captain

Irondrake 01.jpg

At the helm of the CMF Rho is Captain Randall "Irondrake" Xenophon (Irondrake Xenophon), a stoic and steadfast commander who is not conflicted in the least with the Derelict's new role on Earth. He sees himself as a steward of unification, bringing the last of his people to peace, and maintaining it so that Earth might avoid the same rotted demise of his own civilization. He is a seasoned leader and military tactician, and has convinced himself no conflict on Earth is insurmountable at this current stage. He operates by his own morals and ethics, and is always changing the conditions of his circumstances to his advantage. This enigma of a man may be sly and unpredictable, but is always steadfast in his command.

The Crew

Derelict 02.jpg

There are mainly two types of crew members aboard the Rho. There are Cygnians who survived the harrowing journey through the wormhole, and there are conscripts who have been brought on board since entering Earth's space. Though, there are always the peculiar exceptions...

Most of the Cygnians who survived the dark journey have longed for a normal life again. They have become refugees on Earth, living among the people much like the other poor, weak and huddled masses on the planet. Some may come back to the Rho someday, but for now, their whereabouts are unknown. Only a skeleton crew remains, slowly rebuilding the ship to its former glory so it may once again travel freely among the stars, or help defend Earth should threats emerge.

Crew Uniform

The standard uniform for crewmen is as such: Top is black with the Vandal pattern, with an accent color of the crewman's choice. Bottoms are black with Starshot pattern of the same accent color.

Fabric and clothing types are crewman's choice as long as they can hold the patterns noted above.

Gloves, boots, shoudlers, belts and back items are all optional and crewman's choice, as long as they match the binary black/accent color theme.

The Ship

Still adrift in Earth's high orbit, the CMF Rho is currently undergoing repairs. Life support has been brought back online, and basic ship functions are now restored. Current assessment of the hull is that it will require major reconstruction, and thus the ship is expected to have some cosmetic alterations as well. The schematics are currently being drafted, and construction will begin once the crew amasses the funds.

Alliances

As a registered defense force on Earth, the crew of the Rho is working closely with other defense organizations, including the PPD and Vanguard, as well as registered hero organizations. A coalition of defense forces is currently in multilateral development.

The Derelict is currently in coalition with the Paragon Paradigm and the Paragon City Defense Squadron.

Recruitment

To expand its roster and bring the ship back to life, the Derelict is currently recruiting new crew members. To schedule an interview, send an in-game private message to the Captain or Commanders listed above, or leave a request in the talk notes of this page.
