Timeline

Brief:

Military brat, father in the Army, born in Ireland. Father passed away April, 2000 after "long illness." Moira suspects government tampering, as records were sealed immediately upon his death.

Mother lives in Salt Lake City, UT. One sister, whereabouts unknown. Met the O'Connell twins in July, 2000 and was immediately 'adopted' into their large family. Makes frequent trips to Louisiana and Mississippi, usually in the company of the twins, but sometimes alone, to visit this family.

Background:

September, 1995 - Enlisted in the Air Force in as an Intelligence Analyst.

March, 1998 - Began a romantic involvement with one Victor Morgan , an officer in the Army. Under his encouragement, began attending school to pursue a Masters in Nanotechnology.

July, 1999 - Moira O'Connor and Victor Morgan wed. One week after the wedding, Victor Morgan presumed KIA when his chopper is brought down by enemy fire during a SERE mission.

August, 2002 - Recieved Masters in Nanotechnology, and promoted to Captain via the Bootstrap program.

June, 2004 - Promoted to Major and given a new assignment to a Top Secret project at the White Sands Missile Range: Project Phoenix Dragon.

This Crey-funded program into nanotechnological-biological weapons featured a pair of powered gauntlets that pulled ambient energy from the air and projected it at high velocity towards a target. Nanites included in the system act as a "key" ensuring one user, and only one user, can use the gauntlets, hereby preventing use if stolen by the enemy.

February, 2005 - The lab is raided by a paramilitary group, presumably to capture the gauntlets. Moira dons them herself, and defeats the raiders, unfortunately destroying part of the lab in the process. When the smoke clears, she discovers she is unable to remove the gauntlets. Her superiors suggest she travel to Paragon City 'for further testing.' She reluctantly agrees, since she can see no other option.

August, 2004 - Moira joins the Super Group "The Eternals." Shortly afterwards, she recruits one Kevin Stone, AKA Bloodwolf into the group.

September, 2004 - Dissatisfied with the leadership of the Eternals, Moira leaves and founds her own Super Group, The Talons of Freedom, and is joined by Kevin Stone.

October, 2004 - During a mission in a Crey lab, Moira discovers she can hook her gauntlets up to a terminal in the lab. Later that night, the gauntlets release their hold on her hands, and for the first time in eight months, she is able to feel things with her fingertips.

November, 2004 - Moira meets Doctor Thomas Void and the two begin a cautious relationship.

December, 2004 - The nanites in Moira's body begin to behave erratically. Within a short time, they have multiplied tenfold and show signs of sentience. The other Talons discover that the nanites are using her own body for their reproduction, slowly eating her from the inside out. When the nanites take over completely, the Talons agree it's time to put an end to them. Thanks to conflicting instructions, the nanites are unable to complete their mission, and with help, Doctor Thomas Void is able to get Moira to a Crey lab, where several minutes of bombardment with EMP successfully kills the nanites. This leaves Moira powerless, and she goes on hiatus from heroing for a time.

December, 2004 - Moira discovers she has latent magical ability. With help , she learns to manipulate the magical energy into something tangible. This power manifests as the ability to project fire and control ice. A pair of bracers are created for her that allow her to focus this magical energy into attacks of the same kind as the Phoenix Dragon gauntlets. In time, she grows in strength and control, and is able to forego the use of the bracers. This culminates in a frantic and stressful battle inside the Terra Volta reactor, where Moira and several other heroes successfully thwarted a Sky Raiders attack on the reactor.

January, 2005 - Moira discovers she is pregnant, and that the unborn child has been adversely affected by the time spent in the Terra Volta core. Her mutated child is growing much more rapidly than a normal fetus, and her bone growth is even more accelerated. Moira checks in to the Phoenix Medical Center for observation and in case of any mishaps.

February, 2005 - Victor Morgan arrives in Paragon City. After discovering where Moira was, and being convinced by a mutual friend to see her, Morgan presents Moira with a vial of a mutagenic suppressant liquid, designed to curb her unborn daughter's wild bone growth. Without a second thought, Moira accepts, and welcomes Victor into the Talons at the same time. The suppressant works, and Moira and her daughter are both safe, for the time being.

March, 2005 - Moira slips into a coma. Her daughter is delivered March 17 via cesarean section. Shortly after birth, her daughter has a massive growth spurt, weakening her body past its ability to recuperate. She is officially dead for three minutes, after which time she suddenly begins to breath again, showing all signs of normalcy. Her abnormal growth is slowed to a normal rate, although she appears to be an eight-year-old.

April, 2005 - Moira has several mystical experiences, including a brief period where she exits her body. During this time she discovers a mage has been stalking her, and upon rejection of his advances, curses her with a spiritual bond to the Talons.

May, 2005 - Moira's metaphysical tie to the Talons begins to adversely affect her, after the captures of Alexander Monroe and Brian O'Connell have a physically weakening effect on her. The Talons HQ computer TAL 9000 discovered a temporary substitute, much like insulin shots to a diabetic, but it is clear that the missing Talons needed to be found as soon as possible.
