EMERALD FOREST a.k.a. DIMENSION 109
BASICS (OOC)
The Emerald Forest, (aka Dimension 109) is one of several locations used in the stories and role play for Alpha Squad.
It is a fantasy location, that can be used for any plots requiring high magic, fantastic monsters and creatures of mythology, such as Fauns, Trolls, Orcs and the like. It is primarily used as a plot device and locale for the Evergreens super-group which is a sub-group of Alpha Squad.
INTRODUCTION
Mars Five claims the Emerald Forest, is in fact a quark anomaly in a curious nebula along the outer rim of the Milky Way. He claims that the world is, in fact, microscopic and appears for only 1 millionth of a second when parts of the nebula collide. He dubbed this strange anomaly Dimension 109, and was able to trap a living essence he detected in this brief manifestation, via Project Bifrost. The downloads he engineered, eventually led to the creation of the bizarre creature known as Rockk.
Azalea Iris is an fairy from the Emerald Forest, who also arrived to Earth with help from Project Bifrost. She claims Mars Five only sees a tiny portal into the forest, and that the enchanted place is not connected to the material world, but rather exists in another plane of existence entirely.
Mars Five claims, Azalea Iris story, is just a happy narrative, and that her world's existence can all be explained by Quantum Mechanical Recursion. Azalea Iris claims, that "Quantum Mechanical Recursion" is just a nerd's way of describing "magic".
The Emerald Forest has brought Alpha Squad both great heroes, but very recently has also brought them great villains. The forest's guardian is apparently an ancient druid by the name of Celeste. She has helped Alpha Squad in the past, and is said to be an associate of Alpha Squad's Vor-Bodil, although how and when they were friends remains a mystery.
Traveling to Emerald Forest
Getting to the Emerald Forest is beyond the science of Mars Five (although he is at times capable of pulling entities out of the anomaly, but only at random, unreliable times).
However, an Avatar of Isis, (allegedly a high priestess who serves the goddess Isis), is capable of transporting mortals to Emerald Forest and back. However, on the last trip back, the Circle of Thorns captured the particle beam she used to transport Alpha Squad, stealing a valuable potion by doing so. They also managed to summon several evil creatures from the Emerald Forest to Earth.
Many of the evil creatures brought to Earth by the Circle of Thorns from the Emerald Forest, went on to join Floral Madness and Cobra Fist to form MEDUSA, a group of evil super-villains united to terrorize Alpha Squad.
One of the creatures brought back during this time, was a particularly cruel Bush Troll named Fizz Wizz.
