During Project Bifrost a strange living essence from downloaded form Dimension 109, and that creature became known as ROCKK!

ORIGIN

In 2008, a group known as Alpha Squad used a mysterious satellite to trace and then download dimensional anomaly. Alpha Squad believed the early warning signs of Ragnarok were manifesting and that these dimensional entities could be used to avert the catastrophe that Ragnarok would bring.

This ambitious top-secret project was known as Project Bifrost.

Download from Dimension 109

Project Bifrost was highly successful, summoning to Earth a wide-array of powerful heroes and dimensional entities that were only too happy to serve Alpha Squad.

One of those heroes came from Dimension 109.

Mars Five discovered the erratic dimension while seeking physical evidence of dark matter. Deep within, a radioactive anomaly on the outer rim of the Milky Way was a broad transient dimension that manifested when the isotopes of the radioactive cloud would collide. The dimension appeared for only a fraction of a second, but Mars Five was able to predict when it would be visible and honed his satellite dimensional download aperture onto the next manifestation.

He managed to trace and track a strange living organism within the dimension and downloaded to Alpha Squad's underground base in the nation of Cobiness.

Growth

The organism that was captured from Dimension 109 was then genetically accelerated and grown to massive size, so that it could exist in our own physical dimension. The result of that acceleration was a mammoth creature of ever-flowing bio-geological mass.

That creature was labeled "Download from Dimension 109" by Mars Five, but the more fun-loving members of Alpha Squad began to affectionately dub him simply as "Rockk". (the extra "k" in the name was apparently added due to a typo when the creature was officially registered).

Rockk grew to be massive, over eight feet tall and weighing over 500 pounds. Rockk's cellular structure was a unique blend of granite and a gelatinous bio-mass - (or as Alastrina Psyche sarcastically observed: "he's plant jello with some rocks thrown in for flavor!").

The Mask

As ROCKK grew he formed arms and legs to appear more like a human, (which also allowed him to walk in this physical dimension). However, Rockk was unable to grow a proper head or face. This also meant he was unable to speak. Rockk's "head" was actually two large tentacles which swirled like nervous worms above his frame.

To help Rockk communicate with others, Alpha Squad constructed a synthesized nervous system, with a bio-sensitive chemical that seemed to interact well with ROCKK's natural bio-geological structure.

Alpha Squad then constructed a mask to contain the synthesized nervous system and placed it on Rockk's frame about where a normal human head would appear. The mask features to large "horns" which are really the plant-like extensions of Rockk's natural form. These two tentacles peer from the mask and help him see and smell. These "horns" move around from time to time, and can appear more like large, fat antennae than the horns.

The mask eventually allowed ROCKK to speak, via a computer program developed by Mars Five. After the speech simulator was complete and placed inside ROCKK's mask, a mischievous Psycho Boy hacked into the program and modeled the speech pattern after one of his favorite actors: Humphrey Bogart.

So now Rockk speaks with the same general accent and inflection as Sam Spade, from the movie "Maltese Falcon".

PERSONALITY

Rockk's "Humphrey Bogart" voice, also seems to have affected his personality.

Rockk is terse, skeptical and unafraid to speak his mind. He is rarely sensitive, or polite - and often the first to "call it like it is".

He is highly suspicious and inquisitive, (not unlike a hard-boiled cop). He has also been known to fall victim to the charms and wiles of beautiful women.

Rockkcan also be a bit gruff and unfriendly with strangers, and is also very impatient with complex human emotion.

HOMELAND

Rockk learns much about his homeland in this issue, a place Mars Five refers to Dimension 109

Rockk has little to no memory of his homeland (the place Mars Five refers to as 'Dimension 109'. However in a recent adventure with Alpha Squad Rockk is brought to the home of Azalea Iris, and during his time in her homeland he comes upon a place known as the Emerald Forest.

He recognizes several of the smells in the forest, and found that the native Trolls of this forest, considered him a lifelong enemy.

Later he meets a druid named Celeste, and she claims the forest is Rockk's original home, but that his travel to Earth has mutated him into an unnatural creature, previously he had just been a living crystal, and was the source of great magic at the heart of the forest.

Rockk's download to Earth via Project Bifrost, means the Emerald Forest has lost much of its power. Celeste claims Rockk must stay on Earth however, for it is in far greater peril than his homeland.

All these details were revealed in issue 7 of Rockk.

APPEARANCE

Rockk's cellular structure is a unique blend of granite and a gelatinous bio-mass - (or as Alastrina Psyche sarcastically observed: "he's plant jello with some rocks thrown in for flavor!").

His body is somewhat amorphous, and his body tends to throb and pulse as he breathes and moves. His shoulders and legs have crystal growths on them, that are translucent and semi-liquid in form. These crystals tend to grow and diminish rapidly and can at times appear like they are "boiling" on his outer-membrane.

Rockk's real "head" is actually two plant-like vines that stem from the center of his shoulder blades. These vines are then contained with a mask constructed by Mars Five in order to synthesize Rock's thoughts into speech. Rockk is unable to speak without the mask. The two vines then protrude out of the mask like horns, but are frequently moving around, as sensors, and act more like antennae than horns.

POWER

Rockk's amorphous form makes him extremely impervious to harm, and most kinetic blows, and and energy (including fire and ice) very often just glance off his gooey frame. However, at times, the blows are sharp enough of powerful enough to cause him harm, and he is not entirely impervious.

Rockk is able to lose limbs or part of himself and regrow them rapidly. Damage to the semi-liquid crystal structures on his shoulders and legs however can lead to more serious damage. Luckily, these crystals are also rather impervious to harm.

Rockk has massive strength, able to lift a metric ton with ease and able to deliver mortal blows via his fist. He's a brawler in every sense of the word though, with no range attack.

He is also rather slow to move at times, requiring speed boosts from allies to keep up.
