An orphan is someone who as a child, lost their parents either through the parents dieing, by natural causes, murder, or even accidental circumstances. Alternatively, the child could have lost their parents due to being abandoned by them for one reason or another, typically because the parents either didn't want the child, or weren't capable of caring for the child properly. Usually these children are taken in by another family or adult figure eventually, or even end up inheriting something their parents once had as a result, other times their merely left to fend for themselves in the world.
