Bumble Rumble was created originally on another server as a pvp toon, and moved at a later date to Virtue for roleplay purposes.

Rumble's character is inspired by the Marvel comics characters Thing and Wolverine. Some of his habits, mannerisms and attitudes resembles theirs, but he is not meant to be a carbon copy of either.

Immortal?

Rumble has a healing factor which keeps him young and apparently ageless. Although he has the features of a man in his thirties, He is over ninety years old.

Cigars and Beer

Too of Rumble's favorite things in life, although his healing factor means he can't be intoxicated.

Waxing Nostalgic

Rumble likes to regale his audiences with his exploit of years long past. He opines about how much better things were in the'good ol' days'. And generally tends to annoy or bore his audience with these tales of yesteryear.

Biography

Rumble is a veteran hero from an alternate dimension. In his earth, he was one of the world's top heroes. Lost in the multiverse after a freak accident involving a time traveling mission with his old super group, Rumble wound up marooned in this reality. Facing the prospect of never getting home again, he has begun to contemplate making Paragon City his new home.

A veteran of several wars, including WWII Korea and Vietnam, because of his powers, (see below). Although youthful looking he had a penchant for acting like a crotchety old man at times.

Rumble is a bit rough around the edges. Although generally heroic and friendly, he can have a rough demeanor at times and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty when the situation calls for it, and wouldn't mind joining up with a group of like minded individuals.. Rumble has a generally good sense of humor. When you're short, built like a boulder, talk with a Brooklyn accent and have insect wings growing out your back, you need one!

Powers

Rumble is an up front combatant, he revels scrapping it out with enemies and is a very 'in your face' type of opponent. His body can protrube with 'stingers' which tend to resemble large versions of the ones bees have, thous giving rise to Rumble's choice of motif.

Quills Impale.png
Spiny Stingers

Rumble can use his stingers as hand to hand weapons, covering his whole body with them making the prospect of touching rather dangerous. He can also fling them in any direction from his body to varying lengths if necessary, for foes who are rather cautious about getting too close to him.

Regeneration Reconstruction.png
Healing Factor

Rumble's healing abilities have kept him from aging noticeably in the last several decades as stated above, it also allows him to heal up wounds and injuries in extremely short periods of time.

Regeneration Revive.png
Returning From the Brink of Death

Rumble's healing abilities are such that he has even come back from seeming death on a number of occasions. Even lying there, breathless and motionless, he will moments later simply awaken, dust himself off and get right back into the fray.

Jump LongJump.png
Leaping

Part of Rumble's mutation caused him to grow gossamer like insect wings out of his back. These wings help Rumble resist the effects of gravity enough to make prodigious leaps, but his sheer body mass does not allow for true flight.

Regeneration MomentOfGlory.png
Bumble Armor

in addition to his inherent powers, Rumble wears a battlesuit fashioned to look like a bee of some sort. This suit offers him an array of abilities which he does not possess in his natural form.

Defense

The Bumble Battlesuit offers some low levels of protection from various forms of attacks.

Flight JumpJet.png
Rocket Pack

The Bumble Battlesuit comes equipped with a Jump Rocket that allows Rumble to increase the heights to which he can jump for a short time, even achiving true flight when necessary, and to control his descent to avoid injuries.

BodyMastery LaserBeamEyes.png
Laser Beams

Rumble can shoot lasers from his eyes (Lasers from the friggin' eyes, biznatch!) with his armor.

KineticAttack PowerSiphon2.png
Increased Accuracy

The suit has computers with tracking software and can even perceive some stealthy foes when activated.

Teleportation Teleport.png
Teleportation Effects

With his armor, Rumble can effect all sorts of Teleportation abilities, including short distance battle maneuvers, teleporting enemies to him, assembling entire groups of teammates to him and occasional performing a 'super teleport' that can instantly cross several city zones at once.

Weaknesses

Rumble likes to charge headlong into a fight, if there's enemies to take down, he wants to take them down NOW, without regarding possible ramifications of getting in over his head. Classic scrapperlock. He at times relies too heavily on his healing factor and the fact that he's risen from the dead on several occasions before.

Drinking and smoking. Rumble likes to drink, and can often be seen chomping on a fat stogie, lit or unlit. The fact that his healing factor renders him unable to get drunk or to feel the usual ill side effects of smoking means these may not actually be weaknesses, unless you count the fact that on teams Rumble often bemoans the fact that he can't smoke a cigar while in his battlesuit.

Politically incorrect. Rumble is a man out of time. Born in 1920, his worldview and sensibilities are that of a man who still acts lie it is the early 20th century. He is not shy about scornfully comparing modern life to his own idea of how things should be. He also has a 1920's idea of how ladies should be treated. A fondness for women with long legs prompts him to comment on them sometimes. 'Nice stems' is a term he has used to women on several occasions. He is not chauvinistic at all, quite the contrary, he thinks women ought to be cherished and cared for. He just has a somewhat outdated view on the roles of gender.

Waxing nostalgic. As stated above, Rumble likes to regale people with tales of the old days, often comparing things now to 'back in my day'. He often does this at inopportune times, such as during missions and such. Once fighting the Hamidon during a Lady Grey task force, Rumble quipped: "Eh dis Hami thing ain't so tough. Why, once back in '44, we was up against some Nazi super soldiers. Hah! Now dat dere was a REAL scrap!"

Manner of speech. Rumble was born in Brooklyn, New York, and talks with the heavy, rough slur of his hometown. Because of this he can sometimes be thought of as slow or dim-witted by people who don't know him. This is actually untrue. Rumble is well-read and informed, able to discuss subjects oon all manner of topics.

Friends and Allies

  • Havoc Star - Rumble met Melody as he ambled by on a Pocket D walkway and she mentioned to a friend that he 'walked awesomely' at first Rumble didn't know how to take it, thinking she was making fun of him. He's since gotten used to Melody's style and feels more comfortable hanging around her in the Pocket than anyone else. He thinks she's got great legs, but uncharacteristically keeps it to himself. Possibly out of respect for Sam.

  • Sovereign Fist - Ray. An old friend of Melody's who introduced them. He thinks Ray a good guy and respects the hell out of his fighting ability.

  • Lightning Adept - Again, Rumble met Sam through Melody. Her current boyfriend, Rumble thinks he's a decent fellow, enough to volunteer to join up with Sam's newly established super group.

Rumble's Soundtrack

Yes, Rumble, anachronism from the 1940's, actually owns an ipod. If you were to listen to it, here's some things you might actually hear on it.
