Characteristics

Appearance

Invoker almost always appears in a set of blue and yellow tights with matching cloak. Although he often receives much ridicule for his choice of "external underwear" he is for the most part good humored about it and insists on his adherence to the "traditional" style of superheroes. Beneath his hood Invoker's face is completely obscured and only a pair of glowing eyes can be seen.

He has also on occasion been seen in a red and blue variant of his costume. He has almost never been seen out of costume.

Personality

Invoker's indistinguishable facial expressions and habit of never raising his voice exudes the appearance of being unflappable. He holds a bit of a reputation for being endlessly sarcastic and having a very dry sense of humor. Invoker has on more than one occasion voiced his love of "combat banter."

Despite his penchant for being a "smart ass," Invoker is usually surprisingly cheerful and has shown himself to be unwavering in his belief of doing good and loyalty to his comrades.

Invoker has shown almost borderline paranoia when even lightly probed or questioned about his secret identity.

Arcane Obscura

Invoker has shown himself to be incredibly powerful in the realm of illusions. Villains usually find themselves quickly surrounded by a host of semi-corporeal and often frightening creatures. Invoker also employs a variety of spells to directly and indirectly manipulate the senses and minds of his enemies.

The other discipline in which Invoker visibly excels is that of healing magic. After unleashing his cadre of illusionary minions, Invoker is usually seen in the back lines assisting his comrade with a wide variety of rejuvenating and protective magic.

Aside from these two primary areas of focus, Invoker also has a menagerie of other magical abilities at his disposable. These powers range from flight, teleportation and offensive spells to things as simple as conjuring drinks (which is a personal favorite trick of his).

Despite his ancestry, Invoker has never once been seen to employ any form of black magic or necromancy. A very curious fact, indeed.

Tools of the Trade

Although primarily a man of magic, Invoker does employ a few items of the physical realm in his work.

Invoker always wears a standard tactical utility belt. The belt contains a communicator, police radio, medical supplies and a small assortment of magical charms, talisman and minutiae.

The most notable of the equipment Invoker uses is in fact his clothing itself. His tights have various enchantments woven into them to resist damage and otherwise help protect Invokers soft, human self in the life of getting shot at, blown up and man-handled by monsters. The costume also substantially boosts Invokers own physical strength and agility.

Invoker’s hood and cape contain some of his most powerful magic. The arcane wards around them are what keeps Invokers face obscure and resists psychic or magical probing thus keeping his true identity safe.

A Brief Background

The Legacy is Broken

Solomon Doone, an evil necromancer in a long line of evil necromancers. The Doone family has long plagued the world for almost two centuries, passing on the dark knowledge of black magic down the family line. The chain showed no signs of changing until Solomon died while fighting the British superhero, The Royal Crown, while his son was sill an infant. Sent to live with a foster family in Paragon City, the legacy of the Doone family was believed to have come to an end.

New Beginnings

However on Noah Doone's sixteenth birthday several large boxes mysteriously arrived at his home. Contained within was the entirety of the Doone family library; countless tomes about magik, demons and necromancy. Noah scoured the books voraciously, discovering the dark history and power of his ancestors. Coming into adulthood, Noah has become a powerful sorcerer in his own right, but unlike his father he has vowed to use his powers for good. Noah Doone has donned cape and cowl to defend Paragon City as The Invoker.
