Psychic Violet is a dangerous, insane, and psychotic woman who enjoys inflicting pain and anguish on others with her psionic abilities. It is thought that her loyalty to Arachnos is absolute, however she is a typical villain, and will stab her fellows in the back if it gets her ahead. She also recently started working for The Rogue Islands Pet Shelter, experimenting on animals and creating various forms of killer "pets" for Arachnos use.

Background

Childhood

Violet was only 5 years old when her parents died, and she barely remembers them. She was very quickly adopted by a caring young couple that could not have children of their own, and grew up well loved.

Adolescence

In her adolescent years, Violet was very popular for her beauty, but even more so for her caring nature. Help with homework, trouble with friends, whatever the problem, if Violet could help, she would. After spending many hours volunteering as a candy striper at local hospitals, she decided she wanted to be a doctor, to heal the sick and wounded.

Young Adulthood

As much as her adoptive parents loved her, they could not afford to send her to the college of her choice, so instead she stayed in Paragon City. Even then, the financial situation was tough, and Violet volunteered for a research project on Psionics to earn some extra cash. The subjects were given very small doses of various psychotropic drugs, and for all involved, nothing really happened. Except Violet. Something did happen, and it went terribly wrong. A small aneurysm occurred in her brain, shattering her psyche (the evidence of this aneurysm can still be seen as varicose veins along the side of her face.) Violet also gained tremendous psychic power and immediately killed all her fellow volunteers and the entire staff. She then turned her power upon Paragon City, and it took Longbow and Ms. Liberty herself to finally take her down. She was imprisoned in "The Zig" with a "psionic inhibitor," a prototype device that totally nullifies psionic powers. Awaiting trial, Violet sat quietly in her jail cell, biding her time.

Adulthood

It only took a month before Lord Recluse learned of what she'd done in Paragon City, and he arranged another attack on The Zig to extract her before she ended up in Astoria Asylum. As soon as the alarms started going off, Violet let lose all of her psychic power, and the psionic inhibitor prototype shorted out. When she realized Arachnos was the ones that "rescued" her, she decided to repay them with loyalty. She tattooed the Arachnos spider logo on her chest, and proceeded to help Arachnos destroy Paragon City (especially Longbow!) once and for all.

Secrets

Mu Heritage

Like millions of magic-origin heroes, Violet is descended from the ancient civilization of Mu. However she never developed any actual powers until recently. Having encountered Archmage Tarxius and helping him forge The Blackwand, part of Violet's Mu heritage has begun to manifest itself, as red electricity crackling around her body, and she is learning actual Mu powers after impressing Scirocco and getting access to Mu secrets.

The Rogue Islands Pet Shelter

Violet working in her office at The Rogue Islands Pet Shelter

As noted above, Violet is "Head Veterinarian" at The Rogue Islands Pet Shelter. She does "experiments" on strays and such, trying to create powerful creatures.

Experiments

Ravens Blood

Violet's first "success" was a humanoid raven creature known as Ravens Blood. Classified as a Spines/Regeneration Stalker, Ravens Blood usually obeyed Violet, however... she had no clue why his wings burst into flames shortly after his creation, and why they continued to burn, yet not bother him. Ravens Blood's whereabouts are currently unknown.

Viper Widow

Violet was in Mercy Island hand delivering a message to Kalinda for Arbiter Daos when she saw four Snakes accosting a young albino girl. They'd already bitten her and she was on the ground writhing in pain, when it occurred to Violet she could take this opportunity to do further testing on the Snakes and their mutations for Arachnos. She "rescued" the girl, and rushed her back to The Rogue Islands Pet Shelter where she just barely managed to stop the Snake transformation from completion. She immediately took blood samples and such, then set the girl to doing menial tasks around the shelter. Realizing that this half-snake girl hadn't developed any useful powers, Violet decided to enroll her in the Arachnos Widow program, registering her name as Viper Widow. Viper Widow however has recently not only 'gone rogue' but gone full-on hero, working to take down the Rogue Islands Pet Shelter.

Foxy Raccoon

One of Violet's most recent experiments was Alice Pepper, a young thief who broke into Rogue Islands Pet Shelter. Splicing her with DNA from a raccoon and a fox, Violet gave her stealth abilities and a more clever mind. Allowing her a bit more leeway than her other experiments, Foxy Raccoon has recently been seen sneaking around Paragon City.

Inspiration

Raina, Cleopatra 2525

Violet was inspired by the character Raina (played by Danielle Cormack), from Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Cleopatra 2525. Raina's history before she became a raving lunatic with psychic powers is unknown, but as she once worked with The Voice, one can surmise that she was at one time a good person, and that the experiments done on her by The Voice made her psychotic.

The Mu

I always knew I wanted Violet to have Mu Mastery, as I loved the Mu, but it wasn't until I read up on what the Mu were and the history of the Mu that I decided to make her actually of Mu descent, and suggest that maybe her Mu blood "backlashing" in her brain might possibly be the cause of her brain aneurysms that caused both her powers and her insanity. Either way, the origin of her psionic powers still rightly remains science, and the Mu Mastery can be Magic.
