Voltaic Scorpion VV Banner.jpg

Voltaic Scorpion was made in one of the many attempts of the player to stick with a Stalker. Wanting to try playing a real spy character, Voltaic Scorpion stayed around. He derives some influence from Solid Snake and the other various characters from the Metal Gear series as well as James Bond. A part of his influence has also come from Wolverine of the X-Men too.

Personality

Voltaic Scorpion is normally a laid back and casual guy. He rarely ever loses his cool be it on the battle field or just hanging out. He enjoys kidding around a lot but can be serious at other times. One thing to note is that he usually lies pretty casually also, even when it comes to his name. He'll usually pick a different name every time he meets someone, few having actually figured it out. Lately, he's settled on the name James Carson just for simplicity's sake. Usually, Volt never reveals much of himself to anyone, opting to keep a more mysterious air about him.

When on a mission though, he usually shows no remorse. He does whatever is necessary to complete whatever goal he has in front of him. Because of this, Volt rarely grows attached to anyone or any place.

He also goes "Hrn..." a lot when annoyed. Other quirks he has is making his exit by using his stealth feature to disappear. He'll also explode with his Lightning Burst when he wants to make an appearance and feels like he's in the mood to do so.

Powers

Voltaic Scorpion's powers derive from his espionage and ninjitsu training as well as the electricity powers in his hands. Using this, he becomes a unique type of spy, stinging from the shadows with electricity.

ElectricMelee TargetedModerateDmg.png
Electricity Combat

Volt was given electricity powers from his chief employers so he could become a unique soldier. Using his electric coated hands, he can strike with shocking energy to take down his opponents. With his own CQC and martial arts training, he uses it with his electricity to be a force to be reckoned with. Usually easily dispatching groups of enemies at once, Volt's trademark electricity is something many fear.

Besides combat, these powers have a different use. He can short circuit most machinery with ease and actually rig basic machinery to do what he wants with prior knowledge of it or messing with it for a little while. Volt can also use this to 'burn' holes in things with enough time using this power.

Lightning Burst

Using his own combat suit in addition to his electric powers, he's can overcharge his suit and rig it so it forces him to burst forward and 'teleport,' then expel all of his charged up electricity to shoot all around him. It takes a while for his suit to charge back up for this and usually leaves Volt's suit sizzling from it.

Ninjitsu NinjaReflexes.png
Ninjitsu Training

Volt has had ninjitsu training, using his abilities to sneak stealthily among other things to keep himself safe in combat. Using quick reflexes and very alert senses, Voltaic Scorpion can easily keep himself away from harms way.

Equipment

As a spy, Volt has a lot of equipment to aid him in his missions.

Ninjitsu KujInZen.png
Stealth Suit

Volt's stealth suit protects him from damage in the event that he does get hit. He's recently gotten it upgraded by Hyperdrive. It also has many other tricks attached to it.

Ninjitsu Hide.png
Stealth Camouflage

Perhaps Volt's most important equipment, he has stealth camoflage that allows him to disappear from sight. This helps him sneak around more effectively and even stand in front of people without them even noticing he's there.

FortunataTraining Aim.png
Combat Eyepiece

Voltaic's combat eyepiece allows him to see in heat vision and night vision easily. It also has a zooming feature he uses to double it as binoculars. Past that, it can also be used to find targets and some information on tech he locks onto also so long as it's in his database.

Ninjitsu KujInSha.png
Nano Heal

If Volt does take damage, all he needs to do is input a command so his suit will heal him with various nano machines. It does however have a recharge on it, making him unable to use these to heal immediately after again.

Ninjitsu BlindingPowder.png
Ninjitsu Powder

Volt also makes use of a powder concoction he's learned of, allowing him to blind and befuddle his enemies. They often end up attacking anything that moves or tries to get it out of their eyes when he uses it effectively.

Ninjitsu Caltrops.png
Caltrops

Keeping these in his suit, Volt uses his caltrops to keep his opponents too busy to attack him. He uses these mainly to aid in his own attacks and makes it easier to fight them.

Character History

Early Life & Tragedy

As a child, Volt had grown up with parents who were each involved in vigilante work. They would travel all around the US and Volt never ended up staying in the same place for too long. Of course, he never truly understood what it was all about, even as he grew older. He lived a relatively normal life despite this until he was nine years old and his parents had a second child, giving Volt a brother. Quickly, Volt formed a deeper bond with his brother as he was the only other person besides his parents who was consistent in his life due to them always traveling.

Volt eventually turned seventeen while his brother was eight years old. His parents, having gotten in trouble with their vigilante work, ended up being callously murdered right in front of him via a sniper. As his father died, he told him to take his brother and go, then told him to check their desk stand before passing. Volt acted quickly and picked up his brother, then took the information his father left him and ran. His brother fought with him the entire way, not fully understanding at first until Volt told him blatantly what happened, which soured their kinship a great deal. They outlasted the money Volt had on his quick, and they could only get by with stealing so much. Volt had read the information, which contained a bunch of information on a sort of safe haven to train children to become vigilantes. He hated the idea and wanted nothing to do with it, longing for a normal life. Also, he wanted to stay with his brother and care of him, because he was the only thing he had left at this point.

Volt became disheartened at trying to keep track of both himself and his brother and decided he just couldn't do it. He realized he was too young, they didn't have enough, and that it was impossible to keep going. This just wasn't feasible, and he needed to break off with his brother. While he didn't want anything to do with that haven, he could leave his brother and make sure he could be taken care of without a doubt. He led his brother, despite all his protest, to this place and knocked him out. When he left him there, he told them to make sure he couldn't remember any of this, as it seemed like they were perfectly capable of making sure that could happen. Volt then left and they took his brother in, leaving Volt to mournfully carry on with his life. Alone.

Volt's Soundtrack

Volt's soundtrack is mostly about his darker and more secretive lifestyle. There's also a bit in there about his general confident behavior he has in most situations. Probably the song that relates to him the most is "There's No Way Out Of Here" for it's grim tone and dark but matter-of-fact outlook on life. "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" would relate mostly with his friendship with Hyperdrive. And "The Scorpion" is actually the song that inspired me to make this character in the first place.

Side Note: Ignore the videos. I just linked to the videos for the song.
