Affiliations

The Junk Giant is a member of Project Corona. So far, given the monolith of metal's generally taciturn nature, his actual point of origin is unclear. However, many students of the Project have dealt with Junk before - since at least once, a massive overhaul of his body was a shop project assigned by Artur Sbu.

It is also worthy to note that he built much of the cybernetic body of Steelcat, which includes some parts similar those that make up Junk Giant's own body (though they are on a smaller scale).

Personality

The Junk Giant is quiet, and tends to be reserved. Carrying himself with an awkward grace despite his hulking size, the automaton has demonstrated time and again that he is loyal, unyielding, and utterly fearless in his defense of his friends and allies.

The Junk Giant seems to have an affinity for small things, such as the eternally fanged Gator Aide, though it can be noted that most everything is small compared to Junk Giant.

Powers

Since he was repaired Junk has been upgraded multiple times, principally through his own tinkering, though he often has the assistance of Gator Aide. Consequently he now boasts some powerful servos and actuators that give him remarkable strength. In addition he has incorporated a variety of highly durable metals (including small amounts of impervium) into his already sturdy construction, making him incredible resistant to damage.

Abilities

Junk Giant possesses a remarkable innate understanding on machinery and electronics. This understanding seems to be nigh on supernatural as he will often take it upon himself to fix things before they have started to display any signs of having a problem. This has led, unsurprisingly, to him taking over much of the maintanence in the Quad. In addition, he will occasionally embark on little side projects; constructing remarkable inventions out of the most random assortment of parts.

More recently Junk has displayed a strange and seemingly random ability. Upon encountering certain devices or pieces of technology his body will involuntarily assimilate them. So far this has only happened once, but it was obvious that his body has the potential to repeat this feat.

Weaknesses and Limitations

In combat Junk Giant suffers from a lack of tactical versatility. He can endure a vast amount of punishment, and hit very hard, but that is about where his options end. In addition he lacks an understanding of people, and can easily be caught off-guard by more cunning opponents. Strangly for a Machine, Junk is highly vunerable to Psyhic damage.

Character History

It was members of Project Corona who were raiding a Freakshow base that originally uncovered Junk Giant. He was buried under one of the large piles of scrap that littered the base, and was inoperative and badly damaged. He was brought back to the Quad along with the other salvage collected that day and was handed over to the Project’s resident shop teacher and engineer, Artur Sbu. Professor Sbu, after a brief examination of the automaton, decided to use it as a class project, getting his students to attempt to repair it.

...

Junk is currently engaged on a quest to better understand where he came from and what he infact is. The is quest has led him from streets of Steel Canyon to the machine shops of the Council on Striga, into the heart of a Freakshow competition, to the Ghosts of Croatoa, and even to Rikti mothership.
