Lunar Sniper is an alias that a young man gave himself in order to keep his hero activities a secret from his father. However, he has a feeling that his father already knows. Anyhow, this man's real name is Julian Argiris and was presumed to have been born in Clyde Park, Montana along the border of Yellowstone National Park.

Origin

The Beginning

It has been claimed that Julian was sent to his father's doorstep the night of June 25, 1990 at his home in Clyde Park, Montana. Of course, this isn't anything that anyone can prove but a man named Benjamin Argiris. He was (and still is) a forest ranger for the Yellowstone National Park. From that moment on, Benjamin claimed this baby boy as his own and named him Julian. Of course, trouble would be had getting his birth certificate and getting him legalized but things worked out either way.

Julian grew up fairly well being raised by a single parent. And because there was not much in Clyde Park, it would also mean that Julian was raised with a fairly sheltered life. In school, he was always alone. He always kept to himself, and he had a very difficult time getting along with people.

As he grew up, he would find that he had... special abilities. When he was about nine, he discovered that animals would come up to him. They would make him feel welcome and communicate with them. This was especially true to wolves and any other canine-like creatures like foxes and coyotes.

When he was 14, Julian once saw a wolf badly hurt and he was so afraid that it was going to die. One touch to the wolf's paw and he found the wolf instantly healed of its wounds. Unfortunately the pain that the wolf felt, Julian then began to feel. He didn't understand what was going on. Because of that, Julian passed out for about an hour, and later waking up to the same wolf being next to him. It was as if he was being protected by this wolf. He would find that this would happen to him every time he healed the animals. And even people.

A year later, Julian would find a silver glowing bow at his bedside. One touch of the bow and it disappeared, wondering where it went. He discovered that by sheer will, he would make the bow appear. When he wanted an arrow, it would appear as well. Going outside that night, he picked a target. As soon as the arrow was released, it landed precisely where he wanted it to go. He repeated this process until he was certain enough that there is not a target that he can miss.

By the time he was 16, he would bring up these issues with his father. The ability to talk to animals and the ability to heal. (And receive said pain from healing them.) Every time, his father would tell him to drop the subject. He didn't want to talk about it. He even claimed not to remember.

There would be a time where his father became injured when he was on his way home from patrolling the park. He would end up in the middle of the crossfire between two wolf packs. As soon as Julian could sense what was going on, he immediately headed over to where the wolves were. A very injured Benjamin watched as Julian pretty much commanded the packs to go home. He was so disappointed in all of them that they all ran off whimpering. Julian then took his father's hand and healed him of his injuries. Unfortunately, his injuries were so great that Julian passed out.

In the morning, Julian woke up with his father at his side waiting for him to wake up. When he was coherent enough, his father began to explain what had happened and why Julian had the abilities that he did. He met the most beautiful woman at the Roosevelt Arch one night and she seemed to have needed shelter so he was happy enough to give it to her. A few nights later, he seemed to have fallen in love with her... But the night after that, she announced that her name was Artemis and she needed to go back. To Olympus that is... After she floated away into the sky, he never saw or heard from her again. His father vowed to never fall in love with another woman because he knew she just wouldn't compare to anyone else...

Julian literally had to do a double take. His mother was... is a goddess? That's why his mother had never been around? He was in complete denial. He didn't want to believe it, and claims that he could not find even an ounce of himself to believe it. Then his father brought up the abilities that he witnessed last night. The communicating with the animals, his healing his father, and he even knew about the bow and arrow. This caused Julian to run away from home and think of what his father had said. He would, however, return and apologize for the way he acted. He decided that he would hesitantly agree with his father and told him that he'd embark on a journey in that maybe he'd be able to find himself.

These Days

Julian's instincts told him to go east. He was guided by the animals he had met along the way and of course make friends with them. He somehow ended up in a place called Founders Falls in Paragon City, Rhode Island. There was a dense forest area on the west side of Founders and met with the local forest rangers there. Because of his talents, the forest rangers would let him take shelter at one of the cabins in Louis Forest and pretty much put Julian on their payroll.

While in Paragon, he would meet someone who felt very familiar to him though he couldn't place it. His name was apparently Charon. Yes, The Charon. Right away, he knew what Julian was. He would later run into other people like himself. Other demigods. Charon had promised to help him and the other demigods into finding themselves. While it took a long time for him to come around, he eventually does and begins to trust the ferryman. Trust is a fragile thing to Julian and the only one who he can even remotely trust at that point was Charon.

That would begin to change, however. As he spent more time with the others and getting to know them, it would be evident that he could trust the others as well. Certain ones more so than others, of course. But it would be here where his journey to self-discovery would really begin.

Psyche

At a first glance, Julian is quiet, detached, seemingly disinterested, and likely to be standoffish. This is mainly because he has lead a sheltered life and has had difficulty making human friends while going to school. Because of this, he finds it very difficult to trust others. The only one who he fully trusts with his life is his father Benjamin.

On the other hand, Julian is a very caring individual. Having a natural affinity with animals and being able to communicate with them, he makes sure they are well and they are happy and content. When he mentions that he needs to tend to the wolves (or any other animal, really), he means exactly that. Julian is also fiercely loyal. Again, this is demonstrated with the devotion he has in taking care of the forest animals. And of course, this also holds true with people.

Julian also tends to get silently defensive. Recently, he had gone on a mission carried out by Charon and was accompanied by three other demigods and a minos by the name of Zander. The minos blamed Julian for having an arrow strike his armor but Julian knows the arrows were not his and instead were from Guides of the Circle of Thorns. He remained unsettlingly quiet for the rest of the mission until the minos departed. Surprisingly to Julian, Charon knew the arrows did not belong to him, further telling Julian that he can trust the ferryman.

People

Whether he likes it or not, Julian will come across people. If he's on a journey to find himself, anyone would know very well that it will involve others.

His Opinions

  • Charon: "He's alright, I guess... I'm starting to trust him more, and maybe he'll give me a chance to confront my mother someday..."
  • Demetra: "I don't know what it is with her. She's always drunk but at least she's fairly bearable."
  • Jason: "Sometimes, giving someone a chance to get to know you is not a good thing. But that's not really the case with Jason. He's actually... fairly easy to get along with.."
  • Ravelin: "The guy's alright... He seemed nice about my dilemma with my mother."
  • Puck: "There's no way in hell I'm going to trust this guy."
  • Jace: "I guess this guy is supposed to be my cousin or something... He seems alright so far."
  • Matthew: "I'm not going to help a whiny co-dependent little kid who thinks a complete stranger is his cousin. Count me out. If he comes near me, a pointed arrowhead will come near him."
  • Donna: "She's weird... but I'd rather not get on her bad side. I don't think I'd like it if I had plants growing out of my head."
  • Andreas: "Aside from the obvious bloodlust for battles, I guess he's okay... Though he shouldn't probably put us at the same level as he... The rest of us aren't really a part of his father's army."
  • Alex: "As I thought, I can't trust this guy... I was utterly appalled at how insensitive he can be and uses other people for his own gain..."
  • TJ: "I've found that I can talk to TJ easily because he doesn't judge me... I just hope that he knows what he's doing..."
  • Lukas: "He wants to lead? I'm too rigid? Fine. But there is no way I'm going to be a part of his little army."
  • Rhody: "Aside from TJ, Rhody is someone I can get along with. I think Andreas pushed him way too hard but maybe that's what he needed to do..."
  • Melantha: "I can't decide whether she's bearable or completely insane..."
  • Aurora: "She's actually one of the nicer people I've met here... I hope she doesn't mind me taking off so much when there are people I'd... rather not see or talk to."

Their Opinions

If you have an opinion of Julian, leave it here.

Factuals

  • Even if has an affinity to communicate with animals, Julian is still an omnivore within reason.
  • Julian never has his bow and arrow on him. It is something he is magically connected to and is able to summon it at will. The same goes for arrows.
  • No, he can't talk to plants. That's Donna's job.
  • There are times when Julian will arrive at any given place with one or several of the wolves he looks after. As Charon has said, they are not pets. They are friends.
  • A part of him still doesn't believe that he's a demigod, but he knows that he has to accept it. He's openly admitted to being in denial.
  • In truth, it is not very difficult for Julian to like or respect people. They just have to get past his standoffish nature.
