Affiliations
Member of the Do-Gooders. Dating the female Outcast (currently on probation) known as Street-spirit.
As a Pilgrim of Ouroboros, he is charged with seeking out those who have been exposed to time travel and gifting them with the special gold badges that allow access to the Ouroboros Enclave. He can also be found standing in the Enclave itself, in front of the decorative pool, greeting new arrivals from the timestream and showing them around[1].Personality
Easy-going, friendly, simple. Quite unflappable, never seems in the least shocked or disturbed even by the oddest sights.
Slightly absurdist sense of humor. Honestly appreciative of women.
Powers
Standard set of Warshade powers, including projecting bolts of dark Kheldian energy, forming energy shields around himself, draining enemies to boost his own energy, short-range teleports and transforming into Dark Nova form.
Abilities
Gets on well with almost anyone. Doesn't leave much of an impression on fellow heroes - tends to get vaguely remembered as a "nice young man".
Weaknesses and Limitations
Women. Unless they're obviously evil, he has an overwhelming urge to help them, or at least hear them out.
As any Kheldian, vulnerable to Quantuum weapons. When encountering Void Hunters, prefers to hide in a corner until his teammates defeat them. (He claims this is standard procedure taught to all Warshades by Shadowstar.)
Has some trouble with his innate teleporting ability, sometimes miscalculating jaunts and ending up falling to the ground or smacking into buildings.
Character History
The Nictus Burnt Ember was stolen from the Council by Azure Freeze in one of her early adventures. Kept in the lab of Dr. Shelley Percy and subjected to various experiments, he was eventually stolen by Malta and delivered to a rogue Arachnos base in Warburg. At Azure's request, Silver Gale led several of the Do-Gooders into the base, and brought Ember back to Paragon City.
Ember is actually a time-traveler. His human half is Alexander Winters, the future son of Christine Winters and Alice Smith. He has been sent back to this time by the Menders of Ouroboros to help establish relations with the heroes of this time. He has merged with Burnt Ember to facilitate his integration into the hero community.
Alex has traveled in time once before. Two years ago, from his perspective, he 'borrowed' his mother's Bands of Shu and used them to visit our era. He was briefly with the D.F.B. under the codename "Shadow from Beyond" until his parents found him and put a stop to his unauthorized time-jaunt. This incident was what earned him the title of Entrusted with the Secret of time travel.
