Anthony Grizzlebury, aka Greenbeard, operated as a superhero in Central America during the period 1930-1941. He worked alongside such superheroic luminaries as Xanatos, The Golden Knight, Visor, Bright Hammer, West Wing, Springfist, Mr. Purple and many other members of the golden age supergroup known as The Cosmic Crew.

Greenbeard was the possessor of superhuman mental acumen, as a result of his exposure to alien technology. He possessed enhanced intuition, pattern solving, information storage and retrieval, and logical and philosophical structuring. His ability to predict probable outcomes of tactical and strategic scenarios was so advanced that it bordered on clairvoyance. Greenbeard had a perfect memory with the ability to recall every moment since the accident that gave him his powers.

Greenbeard possessed knowledge of genetics, physics, and robotics, and had designed a large number of sophisticated weapons, vehicles, computers, androids, and synthetic humanoids to work on behalf of The Cosmic Crew's behalf around the world. He was particularly adept at mechanical engineering and manipulating robotics for various heroic purposes.

He gained his incrediable powers of foresight and superhuman mental acument after an alien abduction in 1928, alongside his ally Mr. Purple who was also abducted.

It was on December 7th 1941 that Greenbeard met his end at the hands of Requiem and The Fifth Column. The attack took place during a Fifth Column attack on Independence Port. Greenbeard's team-mate Mr. Purple was also slain in the attack.
