Character Background
Sanil Kadesh was a brilliant mind, and one of the world's foremost and gifted surgeons. Using his innate, mutant powers of healing, he enjoyed a tremendous amount success in his profession. But practicing medicine is what Sanil did because he was good at it, but it was not necessarily his passion. His real desire was to use his abilities to fight crime. And this he did by night using the moniker "Nightblade".
"Nightblade" was so successful at crime fighting, that he was approached by ElementalMaster and to join "The Six Pillars of Justice" to which he enthusiastically joined. Years went by and what started as a nagging skepticism at the inability of the team to effectively fight crime eventually developed into a deep-seated resentment of their "soft" methods. Against the better judgment of the team "Nightblade" started delving into some dark tomes of forbidden knowledge thinking these held the secret to improve his crime fighting abilities. But it came at a price to his rational mind. Oppressive thoughts of rage, malice, envy and torture consumed him.
One day, ElementalMaster broke in on a interrogation session of a unsuspecting street thug as "Nightblade" tried to extract information from him. The darkness of his mind overtook him as he mercilessly and savagely tortured the thug, killing him in the process. And he fiendishly relished and enjoyed every minute of it. ElementalMaster tried to subdue and turn him over to the authorities him, but "Nightblade" summoned a denizen of the netherworld that gave ElementalMaster a glancing blow to the head that rendered him unconscious. "Nightblade" escaped with the promise to one day finish what he started by destroying everything ElementalMaster holds dear including his life.
That was two years ago. After following a trail of broken, ruined bodies, "The Six Pillars of Justice" finally tracked "Nightblade" to a safehouse in Talos Island. Unfortunately, all that remained, besides the corpses was a message written in blood and addressed to ElementalMaster which read:
"Flee, but I will pursue you.
Hide, but I will find you.
Escape, but your hope will betray you.
Weep, but your tears will not profit you.
Beg, but I will deny you.
Scream, but no one will hear you.
Die. Now I will oblige you."
Fear has a new name.
