Sysop Rights Requests is the place where VirtueVerse users can request consideration to become a sysop with the VirtueVerse project. Sysops are users with access to additional features to aid in the maintenance of VirtueVerse. A user must submit their own request for sysop status and in some cases other users are welcome to nominate other users for the job. Please be sure you are familiar with the role of VirtueVerse Sysops and have read the Sysops How to Guide.

About Sysops

Sysops gain access to privileged maintenance tools including page deletion, page protection, blocking and unblocking, and access to modify protected pages and the MediaWiki interface. See UHVU: Sysop Tools for a full list of these tools and Sysops How to Guide for further information.

Administrative actions are publicly logged just as any other changes are, and can, if necessary, be reverted.

About Requests for Sysop Rights

The VirtueVerse Bureaucrats grant sysop status to trusted users who have demonstrated their dedication to the project and their knowledge of VirtueVerse and its policies. Nominees should have been on VirtueVerse long enough for us to determine you are trustworthy.

While there are no official nomination standards beyond having an account and a basic level of trust, it's important to note that sysops are held to a higher standard of conduct because other users will turn to them for advice and help.

How to Nominate

Any user with an account may nominate themselves or another user for sysop rights. To do so, please follow the instructions below:

To Nominate Another User

1. Navigate to the User_talk page for the user you wish to nominate. This should be /User_talk:USERNAME, replacing USERNAME with the name of the user you wish to nominate.
2. Edit the talk page and add the following:

A user who is nominated by another person is required to accept the nomination on their talk page before they will be considered.

To Nominate Yourself

1. Navigate to your own User_talk page by clicking the "my talk" link near the top or by navigating to /User_talk:USERNAME and replace USERNAME with your username.
2. Edit the talk page and add the following:

Sysop Rights Approval Process

When a user requests sysop rights, or is nominated to receive them and has accepted the nomination, please post their information below with any additional information from their Nomination/Request. Current Sysops will then have an opportunity to sign a yes or no vote to the user. Please ensure you sign your vote with ~~~~.

Once a user receives three yes votes they will be added to the sysop pool by a bureaucrat.

Reason: Not sure my opinion matters for much, but Cyphre, otherwise known as Chaoshornet has always done a bang up job visually on the wiki and he has some good ideas from what I've seen in the past. When I saw the option to nominate people he was one of a few who came to mind.

Reason: Another person who deserves this, Fox has put plenty of effort into helping out before. I think she, much like her other half Talen, would make a great sysop. On the bonus side Fox seems to also know quite a bit more then the average users regarding wikis.
