- Menace Force Mu - One of the Twins, and half of Tau's main informant team..
- Menace Force Nu - The other Twin, also an avid storyteller/informant...

Personality
Tau is loyal to her bretherin, sincere, dedicated, and willing to sacrifice herself for those she loves. It's said that these traits are why she's manifested the wings she has, despite the underlying nature of all the Menace. She has her questions about the authorities they follow, and the rules imposed at them. But saticfying that curiosity is always secondary to the good of the project and the well being of her family. She'll ask questions and puzzle things out if it seems the answers are what's needed to keep her people safe. However, when the situation requires she remain obedient, she can follow orders without argument. As a Xion, she also tends to be inquisitive, intuitive, and very tactile; though as a Menace soldier, she has learned to restrain some of those urges... to an extent.
Character History
(Spoilers... if you are interacting with these characters and don't wish to know the truth just yet, you have been warned)
Backstory
Tau was created in one of the most recent, and most sucessful generations of Menace X soldiers. She was normal, unremarkable compared to the other cognizant members of her generation, until the age of 12. At that point, she went through a period where she was ruled as "ill" and kept in isolation in the medical ward. The scientists suspected that her body had started to change, perhaps close to manifesting some of the feind like mutations of the project's failures; and so they kept her sedated and under close obeservation for nearly a month. That time ended when Gamma was killed and the project fell into the hands of Alpha. A story which wouldn't involve Tau, then known as number 109, except for what happened that night. While she lay in the dark, too sedated to think of escaping, but too restless to sleep, Beta slipped into the Medical ward. He was distraught, covered in Gamma's blood, desperate and dangerous; a wounded animal looking for a silent place to hide. When he saw that he wasn't alone, the thought of killing her must have crossed his mind. He crawled onto the bed with her, holding his claws to the girl's throat, ready to kill the only witness who could bring the authorities of the project down on his head. But, he found himself unable to take another life that night. Having killed his brother was too much for him, he couldn't kill anyone else. Instead, he held the doped girl in the darkness and cried silently into her back; a memory that Tau has long struggled between repressing and bringing to light. Frightened, unsure of everything except for the fact that he had been profoundly hurt, she wraped her arms around his, and held him like that till the morning when Alpha came to retrieve him. Time passed, the project fell under its own leadership, and Beta found that the only way he could fufill his duties was to rule by fear. The first time Tau saw him, no matter how much she couldn't remember, he must not have seen that fear in her eyes, so he spent the next several years working to instill it in her. Tau was never a foolish girl. She learned to fear Beta, she learned to tremble when he approached, and to repress the memories that might contradict that image of him. So, by the time she was posted in Port Oakes, she had developed a healthy terror of her direct superior, something serious enough that even the other Menace who knew Beta wondered what had happened between them.
Past Events
It wasn't till she and Kappa had begun work in the Isles that the two of them began to manifest further mutations. Feeling a constant ache in her hands, Tau did some x-rays to see if they were fractured. What she found instead were rudimentary claws beginning to form along her bones. Frightened, she hid the changes from those she lived with as well as her superiors. Then, Kappa grew wings. Tau was terrified. If only one of them changed, that ONE would be taken back to the main base to be tested by Beta. If more than one of them were changing, she saw that every member of the project would be recalled to base and tormented mercilessly by her superior officer. As Kappa lay there, weakened and dazed by his change, she came to a decision. She would sacrifice herself, allow them to know she'd mutated, to save Kappa. Unfortunately, this required one other, small sacrifice. She pulled her knife from her belt, prepared to sever Kappa's wings to save him from Beta's attention. Kappa awoke just as her knife touched his flesh, and fled from her, hurt and betrayed. The two eventually reconciled, and braced themselves to deal with the worst. What happened, instead, was that both Alpha and Beta came to the isles to supervise the Project there. Increased supervision meant that certain things were found out; including the fact that Kappa had already had extensive contact with a group of outsiders who knew far too much about them; The Xion's. Beta eventually cornered Tau to ask her about this, determined that this time he would not be swayed when she began to cry for Kappa, or tried with all her courage to defy him. Tau's body was already in turmoil, and Beta's persecution proved to be to much. With a scream, she fell to the ground, small wings tearing their way from her shoulderblades. As the blood dripped off them, it became clear they were -not- like the wings possessed by any other Menace. They were soft, feathered, and almost angelic. The effect on Beta was instantanious and shocking. He ran. Confused, hurt, with long ignored memories too near the surface, Tau went to find him where he'd hidden, deep in the new base. Beta finally confessed to her that -these- wings were the same as Gamma's, the same as the brother's whom he'd killed. Unsure what else to do, Tau found herself true to the nature suggested by her wings, and held Beta, comforting him untill they could both come to terms with what had happened.
Current Story
While things were still settling from her most recent mutation, Tau was kidnapped by the Ninja Tanshin. He beat her down, interrogated her, and attempted to secure a blood sample from her. Infuriated, Tau used her powers to escape and reclaim the blood sample, fleeing into the woods near the mill on Cap Au Diable. Once she was certain she'd shaken pursuit, she returned to the base and passed out. Menace Beta found her in this condition. Furious, he left instantly to hunt down Tanshin and punish him for attacking -his- Adjutant; as Beta has slipped into calling her. Realizing the mistake, Tau ran to Alpha and told him where Beta was. Both leaders returned, but Beta was horribly altered, his body twisted and darkened into a form that could barely be recognized as human. This was the breaking point for Alpha's fragile stability; and Alpha locked Beta away to protect the other's while he tried to figure out a way to "cure" the changes. Undaunted, Tau defied Alpha's wishes, accused him of giving up on his own blood far too easily, and walked past him into the lab where Beta was being held. Beta was horrified that she'd risk coming to see him, and did everything in his power to drive her off before she ended up like Gamma. Steadfast, Tau remained by his side, allowing him to scream at her, and damage her. Finally, Beta's defences broke down, and in that moment of vunerability he allowed her to see his true feelings. Her lips still warm, Tau promised him they would make things right, and she escaped from the Menace Base with Beta, going to ground in Oakes. Kappa found her there shortly after Beta went missing, and they set up a base in Dark Xion's abandoned appartment. Now that Beta has returned, they find themselves at a turning point. But, before they can decide whether or not to return home, they must first understand what has happened to Alpha... To that ends, Tau asked Kappa to return to base to spy for them...
Powers
Tau was one of the "prodution models" of the Menace X Project. As such, she's a trained fighter, able to take a decent amount of damage, and skilled at striking from the shadows only to vanish again. Her demonic mutations include a small set of vicious claws that tear from the backs of her hands, and small feathered wings that mysteriously seem to allow her the power of flight...
Vulnerabilities
Tau's main defence is remaining hidden in the shadows. If she can escape notice, she can escape harm. Once she's been seen, however, she's easy to damage and overwhelm. Also, she'll do practically anything to herself, if it's for the good of the other Men-X'ers.

- Tanshin : not because of what he did to her, but because what happened to Beta is his fault.
