Family Ties
Saige comes from a family where his father is a Nobel Prize recipient and his mother is a university professor with a couple PHd's to her name. Needless to say the bar is set pretty high. In the pursuit of their achievements, Saige's parents pushed him and his concerns to the back of the line. All his life, Saige craved attention and love from his parents and received none.
Thinking academics was the way to win them over, Saige worked his tail off and graduated high school early. He attended MIT and graduated there early as well. Still he found his parents to not be impressed. Distraught and seeking acceptance from someone, Saige fell in with the Skulls gang through an old high school friend. Saige had qualms about the initiation kill but was pushed into it. Thankfully he was foiled by a fledgeling hero in the city, Everyman. This incident exposed Saige to a cultural phenomenon he didn't pay attention to before: the super hero.
Second fiddle to heroes
Saige saw that people loved and revered them. Some people hated them for the seemingly wanton destruction they caused and their lack of concern for laws but that doesn't stop people from talking about them and obsessing over them. Saige finds that his parents are among the people caught up in the super hero hype. It is there Saige thinks he has found his in with his parents. He would gain their love by being a hero.
Birth of the Bowman
Saige spent the next several months developing a persona. Did he want to work without a weapon? Did he want to be dark and brooding, or light and fun-loving? After scratching out the bright colors and cape of Majestic Man and pitch black costume of the Enforcer, Saige thought long as hard about what he wanted to do. At the root of it, his mission was to hunt villains. What is a tool of hunting, a gun, no he didn't care to carry those, what's next...a bow and arrow? A bit old school but with some tweaking it could be effective.
Saige designed his bow and costume over a few more months, conducting many tests with it as well as taking jiu-jitsu and kickboxing to keep him from getting his tail kicked on the streets. He took his share of lumps on his first few outtings as the Prodigal Bowman, but he persisted and is getting better and better with every night out. He has not revealed himself to his parents yet, as he feels he has not proven himself and they wouldn't respect and love him still.
But they will.
Purpose
Saige puts his life on the line for those that need help just like any other hero, but his motivation is for the love of his parents.
Personality
Saige is cheery guy. He is very serious and committed to his job with the local paper as much as he is about being a hero. When it comes to journalism he is confident in his skills. When it comes to being a hero, he is less so. He knows he has quite a bit to learn and seeks to absorb all he can from the people he fights alongside.
He is determined to win the love of his parents.
Affiliations
Recently became a new member of the Hyperion Force.
Powers
Saige doesn't have any superhuman powers he is highly skilled with a bow and arrow from years of training. He is also well-versed in Jiu-jistu and kung fu.
