Raykera
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
(( Character has moved away, so mostly retired... Visits are to be made, though! ))
I'm not entirely sure where the idea for Ray came from. I got bored one day and...yeah. So here she is.

Personality
Raykera (Or Ray, as she's most often called) is a loyal friend. She refuses to turn on people she cares for without a reason that she would consider valid. On the other hand, if there are people she dislikes, she's not likely to change her opinion easily. She often finds herself wishing she were stronger so she would pose a threat to any of them. Despite being easier to overcome than many of those she knows, Ray won't hesitate to fight for something or someone that she cares for.
Past
1983 - 1990
Raykera was born on November 29th, 1983, in an unidentified region of North America to Ariyon and Kaja. From the moment she was born, Raykera was in danger. She was born and grew up in an alternate dimension of Earth, where war was a constant. When she left, World War XIV had been going on for thirty-five years. For survival reasons, she was taught to fight from the moment she could properly use her muscles. Her primary field was swordplay, as her entire family was filled with skilled swordsmen. The skills came naturally to her, and she began fighting at age five, after two years of training and sparring.
About the time Ray began training, her mother, Kaja, was pregnant with her sister. About two months into said pregnancy, their base was raided by an opposing group. Kaja, thinking she could still fight, assisted in warding off the invaders. Slowed down by Ray's sister, she took a sword to the stomach, killing them both.
A few years later, when Ray was seven, she and father, among with a few others, were fighting that same group and being quickly overwhelmed. As Ariyon called out for backup, an enemy came up behind him, catching him off guard and slitting his throat. Ray arrived just as it happened and killed the man. To this day, she feels guilty for her father's death, even if she doesn't say it.
1991 - 2008
The majority of Ray's life was focused on fighting, naturally. She made friends among the group she aligned herself with, such as Niorea, and foes among other groups, such as Steel Revolution. At age ten she began learning various martial arts techniques, and practiced those along with her ever-increasing swordplay skills. She grew confident and began landing herself in tricky situations. One of these involved her trying to take on a group of ten enemies alone. As she spun around, trying to keep an eye on everyone, a blade caught her right cheek, barely missing her eye. Nevertheless, the wound bled into her eye and blinded her. Had her allies not arrived, she would not have survived.
Present: 2009
A New World
One day, Niorea's brother, Brian, approached Ray. He told her that Nio had been harboring jealous feelings for Ray, and may want to get rid of her. Trusting Brian, Ray was cautious around Nio. Not a week later, Ray awoke to... Complete calm. The normal clamor of war did not surround her, as this was not her home. She was somewhere in Paragon City, in Rhode Island. A whole different dimension. Confused and disoriented, Ray found her way to a nearby house, killed the owner without much thought, and slept.
Eventually, she came across Pocket D. She began spending the majority of her time there, drinking and keeping a watchful eye out for a familiar face, someone who might have sent her here.
Alliances
During one of her frequent visits to the D, Ray overheard a man, Brendan, questioning someone about a group. Her interest piqued, she joined the conversation, which led to the person being questioned, Kyle, telling them about a group, the Abandoned Warehouse. Despite the fact that the Warehouse had just been blown up, Kyle took them on a tour of what had so far been rebuilt. And the end of said tour, he tossed them each a comm, welcoming them to the group.
A week or so later, Ray re-entered the Warehouse. She was confronted by the Warehouse leader, Erik Jameson, who immediately questioned her about her identity, intentions, and why he shouldn't kill her. Taken slightly aback, Ray answered him and left, not to be seen for a month or so while she went out to train more and fight.
And the Drama Begins...
Ray returned to the Warehouse about a month later, and in doing so scared one of its members, Casey, half to death, thinking she was Ahna, another member. The others who were with Casey went off to plan how to deal with a predicament, while Casey explained to Ray what was happening. The member she had been mistaken for, Ahna, had been taken over by a merc group who was after her boyfriend, Allen. She had come on to Erik, and tried to convince him to kill Casey. Wanting her to think he was playing along, Erik 'shot' Casey, who was now supposed to be dead. Glad to be part of something interesting, Ray followed along for a bit, talking with Erik and then going back to Casey. There she met Brad, who was sitting on a water cooler, 'warming it up'. After a few humorous exchanges, Ray left, wishing them luck with the Ahna situation.
Turmoil
A while later, Ray was in the D with Chris when Casey showed up. He crushed his comm, piquing their curiosity and concern, and so they went over to talk to him. He revealed that he was tired of losing things close to him, and that he was better off alone. Ray listened for a bit as Chris tried to talk him out of it. Eventually, Chris left, and Ray spoke up. She had fond memories of Casey, as he was the first to help her feel involved in the group, and told him this. She tried to convey to him that he was important to the group and its members, and that people would miss him. After a bit of convincing, Casey agreed to remain in the Warehouse.
The next day, Ray and Casey were standing together in the D when Kyle, blunt as ever, came up and questioned him about his breakup with another member, Lia. Upon discovering this, Kyle suggested that Casey date Ray. Not much for emotions, but at the same time fond of Casey, she agreed to give the relationship a shot when he suggested it.
Betrayal
Nothing much happened for a while, other than some drama with other members, which Ray was quickly learning was a constant in the Warehouse. However, one day Ray and Casey were standing in the D with Kyle when he began coughing, eventually collapsing. Ray carried him to the medbay, to find that he was already dead. They called for help over the comms and Uos came, but said nothing could be done. Kyle had stopped willing to live. As everyone around him grieved, a portal opened up above him, sucking him up, but not before Ahna grabbed hold of his ankle and joined him.
Ray and Casey went to the D, standing with their backs to the stairs, considering and grieving for the predicament. After only a few minutes, Ray felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She looked down to see a sword protruding from her stomach. Stumbling back, she fell down the stairs, Casey running after her. Despite being delusional from the pain, Ray was able to make out Niorea, and heard Casey threatening to end her. Not knowing what was going on, Ray pleaded for Nio to be spared, insisting she was a friend, despite obviously having stabbed her. Casey rushed her to the medbay, leaving the others there to deal with Nio.
In the medbay, Ray was injected with nanites, and quickly learned that the blade had been poisoned to kill them. Allen and some others brought Nio to see her and hopefully get an explanation. Casey made constant threats to kill her if Ray died, or if Nio tried to kill her again.
Ray tried to figure out why Nio had stabbed her, but she wouldn't talk, other than calling Ray a 'traitor', which Ray knew she was not. Eventually Nio attempted to kill her again, which resulted in Casey retaliating. No one hearing her distraught calls, Ray retreated to a corner until everyone managed to pull Casey off Nio. Ray was helped back to the bed, while Nio was brought to a containment cell.
Ray, understandably exhausted from getting stabbed, feel asleep after making Casey promise Nio would live. She slept for several days, awaking to find Casey asleep by her bed.
A winged Kyle appeared, back from the dead. He moved Casey to an actual bed and went to talk and explain things to Ahna, who had returned earlier.
When Casey woke up, he stopped to talk to Nio. Ray managed to drag herself to Nio's cell, where Casey was having his nanites eat Nio's sword, antagonizing her. Stressed by this, Ray began to bleed through her bandage and was brought back to her bed.
A few days later, Erik showed up next to Ray's bed and offered to help her wound heal, bringing out a large needle. Not entirely confident in Erik, Ray told him to get away, but he convinced her to let him try. He programmed some nanites to fight the poison and injected her with them, healing the wound.
Ray went to Nio's cell, only to find that she had been moved. Casey had attacked her, and eventually stabbed her with her own sword. Ray became very upset upon hearing this, but was convinced by Amber to trust Casey, and that he had the best intentions. She wasn't told where Nio had been moved to, however.
After talking with Casey, Ray found out that he had been interrogating her. He discovered that Brian, Nio's brother, had told her the same thing he had told Ray days before she was brought to Paragon. Nio thought that Ray was jealous, and was brought to Paragon the same time as Ray. She talked to Brian via a communication device, and he made her believe that Ray had sent them both there and was a traitor.
Ray tried to convince Nio otherwise, but to no avail. Eventually, however, she was convinced otherwise when Casey brought Moeri, another ally from their group. He told her than Brian had been threatened and scared into telling them both those things. Nio, realizing that Ray was no traitor, was released, agreeing to help find out who sent them to Paragon.
Pain and Gain
Things quieted down for a little, but it wouldn't last. One day Ray turned on her comm to discover that Brad, a close friend who she enjoyed sparring with frequently, had died. Not only that, but Casey's brother, James, had died saving him.
Ray spent the rest of the day grieving, thinking things couldn't get much worse. Casey offered to take her somewhere, to which she agreed. They ended up on a beach in Talos, a place which Casey explained meant a lot to him. It was a place where he could think. They sat in the sand for a while, talking.
Eventually, Casey started talking about what Ray meant to him, and asked her to marry him. She of course happily said yes, her spirits lifted substantially by this.
When the two returned to the D, they were met with even more good news when Brad spoke over the comms, alive. They rushed to the base and exchanged multiple hugs. Unable to stop smiling, the Ray and Casey came out with the news of their engagement. Brad and Amber also revealed that they were engaged, causing more smiles and hugs. Things were finally looking up.
The Midnight Refuge
For a while now, the Warehouse had been struggling with another group, the Abyss Empire. During negotiations with them, Kyle offered his soul to the leader, Labal, to stop the fighting. This greatly upset Lia, and she quit the Warehouse.
Not long after, Ray went to the base to find Erik was back from a vacation he had taken, and had built a throne for himself, supposedly as a joke.
Ray went to the D and found that most of the Warehouse had left and started another group, which they called the Midnight Refuge, founded by Lia and Jordan. It was an attempt to cut back on all the drama that had been happening lately and was led by Chris, who had led the Warehouse in Erik's absence. Ray, who felt uneasy about Erik and was not confident in his leadership skills, joined them.
The Drama Follows
The Midnight Refuge was supposed to be a group free from drama. However, drama appeared to be inescapable. On Halloween, Ray found Casey chasing something, very agitated. When she asked what was wrong, he revealed that there was a man dressed as a clown, knocking on people's doors. When they opened them up, he would go inside and murder them. He wouldn't take anything, he'd just kill them.
Ray tried to help Casey find the clown. Not long after, however, a crater appeared behind where they were standing, and the clown fell to the ground, dead.
A man appeared, claiming to be the future Casey. After proving this to them, he proceeded to warn them of a threat that would lead to the end of the world.
In December 2012, a bomb would hit the eastern United States. It would kill 100,000 people and release a virus that turned the survivors into beasts, Juggernauts, which would be extremely hard to kill, and capable of infecting others.
According to the future Casey, the bomb was in production now, somewhere in Europe or Asia. He didn't know who created it, only when it would be complete. Save for Casey and Chris, the entire Refuge, not to mention millions of others, would die if the production was not stopped.

Don't freak out if I forgot you. Just add yourself, and write awesomeful stuff.

Dantian - Brad is one of Ray's best friends, and a sort of 'sparring buddy'. He was one of her first friends, and makes her laugh constantly.
Lia MacKay - One of Ray's close friends, Ray finds Lia incredibly fun to be around, and an all-around good friend.
Clara Su'cour - Clara is undoubtedly one of Ray's best friends. The two spend much of their time working together to steal hats, glasses, and jackets. Although they didn't know each other very well when they first met, their relationship has grown much, and Ray enjoys it to no end.
Jordan Murphy - A former acquaintance, Jordan and Ray have recently grown much closer, and Ray values Jordan's friendship greatly.
Zack Lanning - Zack is most definitely one of Ray's best friends. Despite her constant teasing and harassing him, she loves this guy to death.

Neutrals
The rest of Ray's friends. She loves them all, though.
Enemies
Grimmajor - Although some, including him, may argue that he's helped her more than he's harmed her, Ray cannot stand this man. He tranquilized one of her friends and shot her husband in the head multiple times, not to mention her general dislike of bounty hunters. She hates his general attitude, and would probably kill him if given the chance.
Sam Thomas - This man nearly killed her husband by ripping out his nanite replicator a few months back. More recently, he nearly killed Casey again, along with his newly discovered half-brother, and aimed a gun at Ray's stomach after tranquilizing Kate, a close friend who he was out to kill.
Steel Revolution - Rev was an old enemy that killed her and sent her to Hell, what else is there to say? Ray doesn't wish the same torture for him after experiencing it herself, and would likely just walk away if she saw him, but she doesn't have fond feelings for him.
Aldora Vladimire - A vampire who hunted actively in Pocket D, who went after one of Ray's friends, Atsu. She approached Ray and told her all the hunting was a mix-up, who almost believed her. Until five minutes later when she was holding a fiery hand to Ray's head. Ray didn't appreciate that, and so rather dislikes Aldora.
The Abyss Empire - They've been against the Warehouse and the Refuge for a long time, causing some deaths, injuries, and overall harassment. Ray can stand a few of its members, but as a whole she doesn't like the group.
Any enemy of her friends is an enemy of Ray. So yeah. Be scared.
(( More stuffs coming. Ah need time! ))
