The Tavern on the Edge is technically a heroic super-group of alts on the Virtue Server. However, the general theme of the group is that the Tavern provides a neutral ground where many SGs can socialize and role-play. It is, in some sense, a tip-of-the-hat to Spider Robinson's "Callahan's Bar" science fiction stories. Some members staff the Tavern, others are simply "regulars".

Regular visitors to the Tavern have included Web Woman, Liberty Rose, Gods Speed, and other members of the Union Supreme, the Adventurists, the Global Defenders, Hyperion Force, Gods Speed II of the Justiciars, and the United Sentinels of America.

The Tavern has an entrance just around the corner from the tram in Kings Row; the Tavern has an entrance tucked away amongst the first level shops of Union Plaza in Talos, facing the gate to Dark Astoria. It is theorized that the Tavern exists in its own pocket dimension, or uses space warp technology, to explain this topographical anomaly, but Night Patriot has never said.
